Desktop Link On Mobile Site
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hey, how can I add a desktop link on the bottom of my mobile pages that redirects people to my regular desktop website?

The thing is I have an auto-redirection script on my website, so whenever my site is browsed by mobile users, it redirects them automatically to my mobile site. However, it is impossible to direct them to my regular site because of the auto-redirection script.

What do you recommend?

My regular site is a wordpress blog, and my mobile site is built with HTML and CSS.

Thanks.

Maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong here and not to sound offending, but "WHY?" The whole point of having a mobile site is to not see the classic view and if you want them to see the classic view on your mobile, don't create the mobile version. Our platform has a classic option at the bottom, but I am about to eliminate that. Our job is to give them a reason to want to see you respectfully on a mobile in it's clearest form. Having your customers look at the classic view only helps confirm ideas as to why they shouldn't have a mobile site. Don't give them ideas. Again, I am going to go find a way to delete that option. Been on my list but haven't got to it. Thank you for reminding me Have fun in life and enjoy your weekend everyone

I need more feedback as to that I am mostly on the fence about this. Maybe I need to be corrected.

Good mobile design practice will include a link back to the original website. You always want to include that if you can. I recently created a wordpress plugin that does exactly this and allows users to return to the mobile site without being redirected back to the mobile version again. Send me a PM and I'll see what I can do for you.

Hey WillR...

My post count if preventing me from messaging you.

Was curious about your WP redirect plugin.

How do I communicate with you?

Thanks,

JT

The offer was only for the original poster, sorry. The plugin is part of my course that lots of people have paid money for so I can't just give it away to everyone.

Thanks!
