Yes it works! I've heard of it getting higher CTR, CPM, and conversions than regular desktop/laptop marketing. It's much easier to track with mobile. What'd you have in mind?

Mobile marketing certainly works. But if you try to implement it without any plan or idea of what you want to accomplish, then it certainly will fail.

The idea of mobile marketing encompasses many ideas here: SMS/text message marketing, mobile websites, mobile PPC, etc. So whether you use one or many different mobile marketing methods, if you have a plan to follow it is very profitable and has one of the best ROI's of any marketing method I've used.

Doubt everything you believe.

I have a few (6) $1000 or more/month clients that would say that mobile marketing definitely works. Plenty of info on the area just gotta dig.

Yes It does work. As to a link, I'm surprised that Will R hasn't posted in here yet.

If you feel like (buying) a WSO, try out Will R's My Mobile Business.
http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...available.html

Great product, with a lot of helpful information and a great mobile site script. If you wanna go hard-core just read through the 6+ pages of the Mobile Marketing forum and you will get as much if not more information than is included in Will R's WSO.

Ironically enough though, alot of information in this forum is from Will R among others.

Tyler

Text messages would be a good way to do mobile marketing IF the receiver actually asked you to send him or her an advertisement. There might be some people out there who just ignore your text message because it looks like some sort of a "scam." I know it's harsh, but some have that mentality. If you're going to do that, it's better to ask them a question first before anything else.

Hi

Does mobile marketing work? If you're referring to SMS (Text) marketing then for most cases it does (note: most cases!)

The reason I say this is because some businesses will never suit text marketing i.e. high volume, low price, and high customer turnover.

Some of these businesses do try SMS marketing and then fail. You have to target the right customer with the right product for success.

I have quite a few SMS clients that range from dog training to Car Dealerships, I don't sell them 'text messages' I sell them how to get clients, more business and how to use SMS to get leads right off the bat.

Bottom line is if you show them how mobile marketing provides a better ROI on marketing spend then you have a client!

However a word of caution here, I just came off the phone to a local restaurant owner and she was running both sms and email campaigns from a 500 customer base that she has built up over 4 years. Here's a spanner that you sometimes get in the works - She said that her return on emails is better than on sms!!

That means that she needs help from guys like us - that's why it's so important to sell 'consultancy' not text messages/mobile site!

I am also interested in mobile advertising to promote services/products (not creating an offline mobile business though). Where can I found resources that gives me a real plan of action for this advertising medium?

Hi,

I've created a nice income using mobile apps and advertising. So ,yes, it works.

I have also found that it is really easy to build a list, but I have so far failed to convert this to a meaningful income. I'm still trying to fathom this one out. Please let me know if you've managed it.

Kind regards,

John

Of course it works. look at all of the mobile marketing being promoted by many of the big restaurant chains. No way Taca Bell, Subwat , or any of the others are going to waste a dime if they thought it wouldn't work.

Mobile Marketing is a tactic of online marketing and as this is mostly push marketing the rate of response will not be high....but is it successful or not or one should invest in it or not is a half question...i guess one should consider the industry and other involved factors.

Has anyone managed to get it "working" for Blackberry and the "iPhone" which Applications deliver the highest revenue per click?

My personal experience is that whilst website mobile adverts deliver decent return, adverts within applications the returns are very small and not really worthwhile.

I work on the Facebook Client Chit Chat. Chit Chat is a Facebook chat application that you can use on your desktop in order to send and receive Facebook messages. It supports Facebook chat history, text formatting, sound alerts and much more!

I guess it depends on the delivery medium as well.

SMS marketing is quite ok now, but I'm afraid there will be more restrictions in future due to the increasing amount of spam.

QR codes are still quite a hassle for the user as they need to take the extra effort to scan it.

The more promising one is NFC. I'm quite looking forward to it to gain traction in adoption rate. Save the trouble of scanning a QR code and also reduces SMS spams.

If your product range that you wish to promote is about contest , foods and entertainment.
It work pretty well. If your services is those professional type , that it more hard while with only Mobile Message will lack of information provided and hard to convinced them to look more into your product.

You did NOT bring any food with you.....and....you have a MOBILE PHONE! (From my experience dealing with Hotels/Motel....an "average" of OVER 95% of "Travelers/Tourists" carry a MOBILE DEVICE with them!")

You are hungry and....you see a Sign in your Room that says; "Scan Here to Find...."Where To Eat!"

Woweee....Yoweee! Guess what YOU would do? Yup! You'd whip out your Mobile Device and either Scan the QR Code or type in the URL of the "Mobile Website"!

Hey Don, thanks for this idea again. I have already put it into action. I will be launching Napa Search next week. I pre populated the site with 20 local businesses giving them a free 30 day trial. Currently i am working with B&Bs and will be moving to the motel/hotels soon.

Good post
im new but the one thing I will say that kind of runs along what was written above is that "client acquisition" is still a very ripe angle to take as far as mobile marketing goes. I have a lot of experience in web marketing on a cpa, cpc, cpm basis and have seen success there but within the mobile space im trying to zone in on the CPA side of things right now and more specifically helping businesses acquire clients. Many businesses already have lists so the hard work of prospecting and aggregating is done. The optimizing and creating a message or "hook" is whats left and the pay is usually quite strong since every new client holds value to a business.

hope that helps
