Battery life on my old iPhone 3g sucked just as bad as it does on my smoking fast android. With the iphone, I got a mophie juicepack, which is basically a bulky case that also serves as an external battery. Not ideal, but with android phones, you can buy a second battery and always have two charged, then switch one for the other when the first one drains. |

I've always been a Windows man (or rather, a man that cannot stand the closed nature of Apple's products), and as a result I'm a huge fan of the open nature of Google's mobile OS. Therefore, when I switched from the iPhone to the Android this year, it was a breath of fresh air. Don't get me wrong, the iPhone is as slick of a device as they come, but at the end of the day, I prefer the openess of an Android device, no matter how unstable it can be at times.

I would prefer Android although both of them just provide the important things supposed for business people. Additionally Android's non-exclusivity appears to very much helpful. It is also universal. Just as 'linkservice' states it is like the pc version of windows.

I build mobile sites, so the iPhone is a no-brainer. Why? Because it doesn't see flash. That's right, not seeing flash is an advantage. Have you ever shown a blank screen to a business owner with a website circa 1990? You don't have to say much more after that. |

I have a hot chick that has an iPhone that I see on Friday, a hot chick with Android that I see on Saturday and a hot chick with Blackberry that I see on Sunday. Why be picky? Ok, so I really don't but the dream is there. Let's keep it alive.

Same as. I just trialed the Samsung Galaxy SII. Beautiful looking phone but there's just no comparison with the iPhone, in my opinion. However, anyones preference might have more to do with familiarity (which phone they used to first) than the actually phone itself. An interesting poll would find out how many people switch phones from Andriod to iPhone and visa versa. I think that would provide a better indication of ease of use. |

If I could have my way...I'd have an iDroid! Each OS has its strengths and weaknesses....now if someone could just find a way to combine the best of both...thats the phone I would buy. |

I just switched from 3GS on ATT to a samsung epic touch on sprint. Epic touch bigger screen, huge plus, thin/light great camera with flash plus a front cam for video chat voice to text, awesome gps directions built in, great keep extras turned off and battery lasts all day sprint network, not as fast as ATT HDMI out capability for presentations. Great for visiting clients presentations if you bring a compact projector. I think I should have gotten the samsung galaxy s2 on ATT, almost same as epic touch, a slight bit smaller but ATT seems to have faster speed than sprint in my area or similar phone on verizon. Big screen is much better for data, surfing, text than iphone. Iphone screen touch is a bit smoother. I would not consider another Iphone until they come out w/ a bigger screen/thinner phone to compete w/ the new droid phones. If you look at a bigger screen you won't go back to an iphone. Applefans don't know what they're missing in that regard. Did i tell you I have an 11foot screen w/ HD projector at home too? |

I just got my first smartphone a few months ago, a 4S. I prefer it for it's small size, itunes integration and electrical efficiency. Those big screen android phones are amazing too! Huge fan of my iPhone. Had it for quite some time now. No problems whatsoever. Just a very reliable and time saving phone. That being said, I do know plenty of people who love their androids. Me, I've always been an Apple fan, so that definitely influenced my decision. |

iPhone for sure. The ease of use and Siri is what sold it for me. I had the original iPhone but got rid of it because of the lack AT&T coverage in my area. But with Verizon I have no regrets.

I've had a Droid X for over a year now. My husband and daughter just got iPhones and I also have an iPad. Pluses for the Droid: - nice big screen - great apps Negatives for Droid: - touch screen is too sensitive - changed my Facebook user name and now I can't change it on the Droid so can't upload to Facebook. It's a problem on the Droid that I can't find a solution to online. It doesn't let me remove the account and put in a new one. So frustrating. - didn't sync well with my Outlook contacts. They got all messed up iPhone: I haven't used it much, but if it's anything like my iPad I think I'd switch based on the touch screen along. I make fewer typos. However, I hear that the screens on the newer Droids have the option to change the sensitivity. Both of them have terrible battery life if you have bluetooth on all the time like me. Definitely dies before the end of the day if I don't recharge. |

I've never been a fan of the way Apple restrict their users but they finally wore me down when I bought a 4s a few months ago. I had a Blackberry for years before that and the only good things about it are the ease of typing and Blackberry Messenger. The iPhone is in a different class in terms of design, functionality, user-friendliness and just about everything else. The worst thing about it is that I end up thinking every other gadget is also touchscreen and runs on iOS! |

I had an iPhone for a few years and a DROID X (my current phone) for a few years now. The iPhone is a much nicer and polished product. My X is much more laggy and buggy. I do like the flexibility of Android though. I basically put up with Android because of the flexibility, but for the average person I would recommend the iPhone. |

Since I have had both an iPhone and Android device I am actually thinking I will try a new Windows Phone next. I have used them a little, and the UI is really neat and fluid. Just waiting one some better hardware to come out. Anyone else looked at Windows Phone? |

Windows?! WINDOWS?! What have they done lately that was worth talking about? Their browser (Internet Explorer) is one of the worst and buggiest ones going around and if it wasn't for the Windows operating system they would have gone down the toilet along time ago. Didn't even know they were still bothering making phones... truthfully.

Sorry, I'm not an "Apple-head." I like my Android phone. I can do everything I need to on it (I'm not huge on games or downloads) and the Android phones are far more affordable to purchase, repair, and replace.

I went with the Android. I own several Android devices (a large one is my drawing tablet -- one of my businesses is cartooning) and frankly I'd rather pay $300 for a cheap 10 inch tablet than $500 to get an Ipad. I love my $50 Motorola Android phone -- voice recognition searches on this thing are accurate and I love being able to dictate Facebook comments and so forth on the fly. My basic quibble with Apple products is the same thing it's been since day 1 -- they are not open source (they don't like competition) and the cost of fixing them or buying them is far higher than other products. I support their right to have a brand that's incompatible (hardware and software) with everything else, but after 30 years in the computing industry, I want price and compatibility and lots of local service sites. |

I've got 'em all. So someone considering purchasing probably needs to figure out what they need more... a phone? or a gizmo that does other stuff. Which do you do more of? Let me say that I am an Apple lover from waaaaaay back. I've had machines since 1986 and I currently have a MacBook Pro on one desk and my machine of choice is a MacBook Air that is getting used less and less as I am finding that I can do soooo many things on my iPad (that I just finally broke down and bought in October- I tried to resist buying one thinking the Air was easy enough to drag around!) All that said... Where I live, AT&T has **** service... so I wouldn't consider an iPhone till recently when Sprint finally started carrying them. My coverage & business plans on Sprint are great (which is why I left Verizon about 5 years ago). For all of you that think that the Android or iPhone is better than Blackberry - I wholeheartedly disagree as it relates to what is most important for me to have in a phone: which is being a PHONE. I've got data/contacts in my current phones that came up through having Palm Pilots, Treo's, then tried the Palm Pre (that went back to Sprint on day 3 - it sucked!) and finally got into the Blackberries about 3-4 years ago because Palm was crashing. I'll bet that most of you that just think the iPhone or Android is the greatest also don't have 2,100 contacts in your phone... or that you probably don't field 30-50 phone calls in a work day *while* you're also spending 4-6 hours in front of clients. If you did, you'd get tired of the tedium of doing look-ups to dial numbers on the Android or iPhone. They both handle speed dialing, texting, and lookups just horribly, IMO. They're fine if you have time to play... but if you're busy... they suck, IMO. I spend my day on a Blackberry 9930 - it's got a touch screen as well as the BB QWERTY. The BB stong points: It's fast. Fast to dial, fast to text, fast to email, fast to navigate around in the interface. Call quality is great. Battery will go all day. Speed dialing is awesome (you can have one for each key on the QWERTY-no digging through layers of "cuteness". Plays nice with Bluetooth. I only use it for internet if I have to... which is very rare. I have an iPad, Evo, & iPhone that all work better for internet stuff. I also was an early adopter of the HTC Evo. Its strong points: Big screen Lotsa apps Fun game machine (my granddaughter loves it) Was great at pictures (the iPhone beats it) It's a TERRIFIC Hot Spot unit ($30 thru Sprint) - fast, reliable. Works well for my Intuit credit card processing Swype is nice. Flash works GPS navigation program is as good as my TomTom (iPhone sucks at this) The main reason I keep this phone activated (I pay $20 a month for it - but never talk on it) ... is that there is a Craigslist app that has helped me save/earn THOUSANDS in the past year - so it more than justifies it being on. There isn't as good of an app in the Apple realm. (It also pays for its keep as a GPS & HotSpot & taking credit cards) Now.. the iPhone. I just bought this a couple of months ago when Sprint started carrying it. I got the 64gb iPhone 4S. Pretty sweet thing - but it should be after laying out $500 for it with some warranty that I hope I never need! Add another $50-60 for an OtterBox because I can't afford to have this one have an accident! I love the thing for music, pictures, games (yeah... I do play a few word games with friends on it when I'm waiting in places) ... but the main thing I love it for is the Calendar. I love the whole cloud thing for being able to see my appointments on any of my Macs or on my iPad. It's handy always having the iPhone on and with me for this purpose alone. But as a phone... it is the pits just like the Android, IMO. At this point, only my family has the number to it - and not sure if I'll ever use it for anything else because of the dorkiness of how it handles a large contact list. So my Blackberry is hooked to a headset all day; when I'm out and about, the iPhone is close at hand for the Calendar, mainly; and I try to keep the Evo charged (that *is* a challenge in and of itself!) for when I need it. For the most part, the Evo goes for weeks without being used as a phone but is used almost daily for Craigslist & HotSpot. So in the end, I think these are best suited for: Being a Phone: Blackberry Texting: Blackberry Calendar: iPhone (instant sycing to Macs, iPod Touch, & iPad) Contact list: Blackberry Email, having to write: Blackberry Email, just reviewing: any phone HotSpot: Evo Craigslist: Evo Taking Credit Cards: Evo, iPhone Internet: they all suck - but Evo wins as far as phones go Games: Evo & iPhone Camera: iPhone, Evo, then Blackberry Now that I'm working with setting up mobile sites, let's just say it's pretty fun having all the toys up and working at the same time for the sake of demo's, etc. |

I would prefer iPhone 4S’s as it has 1,420-mAh battery that offers up to 8 hours of continuous talk time. This has been a great achievement from Apple since the iPhone 4S’s predecessor–the iPhone 4–has the same 9.3-mm thickness with a lesser battery capacity of 6 hours talk time.
