Anybody Else See the Similarities between the Mobile Boom in the dot com Boom?

As I do my research I see that not only is mobile bigger than the dot com boom it has the potential to not have a bubble burst like the dot com which means good opportunities for us.

What are your thoughts?

I agree. A lot of the big offline WSOs right now are about facebook, and social media and stuff, but most people are accessing that stuff on mobile devices. The cool thing about mobile is the extent of how you can apply it - both on the sheer volume and type of devices (iPhone, iPad, Android, tablet, etc) and the things you can do with mobile (apps, mobile websites,QR codes, push notifications, etc).

I have broken a pattern of buying WSO after WSO trying to find the magic bullet, when I have been doing apps and mobile all along, but just not capitalizing on it like I should.

When I told people I was looking at social media marketing or facebook or Google Places, the response was pretty much "meh, there are so many people who already do that" (I know there is still room for good people doing that stuff too), but when I tell people that I've got 5-6 iPhone and Android apps, and I'm working on some that I think could be really big now, both for businesses and personal, the response is more "COOL! Tell me more about that!"

If you look at a lot of the projections, like for growth of the iPhone, Android, and tablets, the growth chart for the next 4-5 years is huge. I'm excited about it!

It is unwise to trust all you read on the internet.

The future is HTML5, as apps written in that will be true cross platform, even though they might not be able to take advantage of some native features to each phone ( such as cocoa for iPhone, etc). It's the place to be. There are lots of frameworks foor mobile apps in HTML5, and its pretty easy to learn if you know HTML, so its going to be very competitive but still lots of room for growth I agree.

I think we (mobile marketers) are definitely in the early adopters stage and there is quite a bit of growth left to go before it really becomes even more mainstream than it already is. With the popularity of mobile phones and devices growing exponentially, the opportunities for mobile marketers will grow just as fast.

Doubt everything you believe.

Clint,
I could not agree with you more. In fact i was attacking this model a year ago in September of 2011. I equate it to this... Mobile is Closing in on a 200 Billion Dollar Industry.

If you could go back 12 years knowing what you know today about email list building (HUGE MONEY) and search like Google what would you do? Unfortunately we cant go back in time...but I truly believe Mobile is in its Infancy stage.

Even with what i observe here on the WF so few really get the power you have with Mobile and Mobile Marketing as a whole... The possibilities if the pricing per text is cheap enough are Vast... The ideas overwhelming at times... and the Possibility Endless..

Those who jump on Mobile Marketing Now, Apply Good IM and Offline Techniques can write their own ticket over the next 18 months IMHO.

There is no better time in Life to build a Legacy and an Empire than right now with the Technology that is out there and Mobile. Thanks for taking a minute to probe my brain...its keeping the ideas and concepts fresh.

I could go on and on as this is my Industry and Platform...but i will stop here. Wishing you and everyone Continued Success.

Regards,
Robert

The number of advertising dollars in the mobile space is increasing rapidly as well. It still has a long way to go as more traditional advertisers are slower to adopt, but the space will slowly become more dominant as the number of users and mobile traffic continues to sky rocket.

I agree with you, people need simple quick interesting experience, Less apps. HTML5 will be much more popular, people will do the same as on mobile, buying things, chating, comunicating with friends, buying our ebooks, etc. I think companies will turn back to mobile platform too, they also need a mobile website, marketing. So,there is lots of chances for us all. there will be A BOOM!!!

Guess what everyone? You're all winners This is how I see it. With standard websites, Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, etc. you have to ask permission as in, "Hey check out my website" or "Hey, like me on Facebook". With mobile it's automatic. I always tell people they should campaign their mobilite but that's just to get people more involved in their business and get them working more. The truth is, when your car breaks down or you get hungry, no one asks you to do anything. You already know what to do. our job is actually 50% finished. Our other 50% comes from getting in front of the customer Stay well everyone and get ready to ride that big wave

Yes, I think so. The mobile phone community is large and getting larger by the minute as millions of phones are selling exponentially.

This is a market that many opportunities and sales to be had.
