I need suggestions..How much would you charge?

Hello fellow warriors,

I posted this question in offline forum but I think I posted in wrong forum because I have not had any responses

I need help on how much to charge and how to approach a potential sms client...

Heres the story

I currently work doing swimming pool service here in Southern Cali and one of the clients I service the pool for has an online retail company. I know this customers business is thriving because she just purchased the home for about $3 Mil.

Their retail website gets about 20k visitors per month and their fb fan page has about 200k fans.

If you were me would you approach this type of client or will I be biting more than I can chew

Would you use a long code 800# or short code ( I think this would be better) Im also thinking of using lime cellulars platform since they can integrate with facebook fan page.. any other suggestions on a sms platform?

I want to be the one managing the sms account and provide value so that she won't shop around for a cheaper sms solution but what are some ways in which you provide value to your sms clients?

Thanks for your help/suggestions in advance

How much you are going to charge is going to depend on how many messages they are going to be using. How do you plan on using SMS for her customers? For deal updates of exclusive discounts?

The problem is if you shoot high and charge somewhere in the few hundred dollar range for you to manage the list for her and she does a simple search for "text message marketing" she'll find about 20 service provider WAY cheaper. That's starting to be a problem in the SMS marketing world where everyone is uncutting everyone else.

Now, are your services worth it? I think so, because if she has a list for 1,000 ppl and each time she sends out a new coupon 100 ppl redeem it she will be making a killing.

That is whats going to be important here. You will have to show her that your price is not only affordable, but actually cheap if you compare it to what she'll potentially be making on it.

I think you should start off by warming her up to the idea first and she how receptive she is in the beginning. If she is all about it then don't be afraid to give her that higher price. You can always go down if you need to, but its VERY hard to go up.

If you need anymore help, free feel to PM me once you have 50 posts!

Hope that helps!

Sean

With the amount of people she has, the short code would be better because it can handle the volume of messaging you're going to be doing vs. a long code. You will be charging a lot simply to send out this many messages, and if you have experience marketing, the process of setting up and implementing well thought out campaigns should be part of the value itself. That has value. If you believe that it would be better to start small and charge minimal, then do that, and build a loyalty over time where she is comfortable with giving you the reins to manage campaigns and to do great things with the service. Whet her appetite with a small campaign that yields results, and then show her that if you scale the results of that campaign to an even larger one (the opt-in lists will build and this no matter what becomes a reality) then obviously the impact is tremendous.
