The chief executive of Ebay's commercial arm was on national radio this morning saying that mobile shopping is the future. Apparently UK consumers lead the way for mobile shopping in Europe but he wasn't happy that many retailers haven't yet cottoned on to this by having their websites optimized for mobile. He said that this situation MUST change soon to keep the retail economy moving along, and you know what retailers are like, they rarely miss a trick! Get ready for the gold rush people |

Yup. Mobile is the future and there is a lot of money to be made from selling mobile optimized sites. Is just matter of finding the right way to explain the facts to business owners so the get a better understanding on why they need a mobile website.

Integration of shopping carts/e-commerce systems with a mobile friendly interface is going to be a major headache imo! I think the big stores such as M&S, John Lewis, Debenhams and all those big high street names are most likely to use apps instead of mobile websites. |

And my bet is that it will lead to the mobile section of the website of whatever the app is for. | |
