Naming a fitness app, suggestions
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I'm working on creating a workout log/tracker for the iPhone (and possibly Android later on). The app is going to be very easy to use, simple to get started tracking workouts right away, no need to jump through hoops setting up an account. I've developed what I believe is an extremely efficient way to create workout routines that other apps don't use (most of them make you navigate through dozens of screens and menus).

So in short, I'm trying to come up with a name for this app that conveys it's simplicity and effectiveness. I've thought of a bunch but none of them really seem to be what I'm looking for. I want someone new to weight lifting see the name and think "hey that sounds like it'll be helpful" and also an experienced lifter to see it and think "finally an app I can easily track my lifts with".

What do you guys think would be a good name? These are a few I'm leaning towards now, but also hoping for suggestions. What else should I take into account when naming this?

Clear Lifts
Clean Lifts
Weight List
Fitted Lifts
Simply Fit

Thanks a thousand!

I personally think that Simply Fit actually sounds better because it sounds easy, relaxed and not complicated. It doesn’t sound heavy as the lifts that will be used.

You can also try other names to incorporate with it. But, Simply Fit is the best among the ones you listed. Good luck!

Nate

Thanks for the feedback, while I would like to go with Simply Fit I noticed there are quite a few trademarks for it (usa trademark link). I don't know too much about trademark law but I don't think I want any potential legal battles later on.

I think it's a good idea to avoid any trademarking issues. "Simply fit", while nice, does seem like something that's been used a lot. Sorry I don't really have a good name to suggest, but maybe you could spitball names and search them on a trademark website/google? From there you can narrow it down to the one you like most. That's what I did with a friend when I was searching for app names before.
