Anyone have a resource for mobile site builders?

Hello,

I'm frustrated b/c I'm not a coder or web designer, and some of the programs I've picked up are excellent, if you're more technical for producing these sites.

specifically brick and mobile, and jason fladlien's wpmobile pro themes.

My challenge is getting the work done, I'm a great salesman and can go out and develop clients.

Does anyone here have a solution, a designer, or provide mobile website design support for any of the above solutions, or any at all?
Thank you, David

We're also interested in warriors that can do the technical end of building mobile websites for our clients. We can do it but would consider outsourcing the work.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

I can't PM you (since I am still a newbie here), but check out ours (in my profile details), or contact me if you can't find the link. Zero technical experience required (and we mean it too : )

    Hi,

it looks like this is a good place to bring this up.

As far as the SAAS providers go in the mobile business at current, I see a repeat of history. The same thing that we saw during the middle 90's. When everyone was racing to have a good online system then. False claims of white hat/ generic branded services. Offerings by firms with no technical expertise. Basically overzealous marketing firms with an application that has not stood the test of time, has no advanced technical support or hosting infrastructure and a company with no administrators offering overpriced services that will soon hit growing pains and leave many people carrying chargebacks and angry clients.

I am an experienced developer and hosting professional. I no longer have any interest in doing sales. The mobile sites are very easy to me and I can maintain all servers and automate processes. I am building a mobile CMS and social network events app now.
Be careful! Be sure you are working with a technology company and not a fast talking marketer that has no hosting network experience.

Hello, thank you for your input and perspective. I certainly do not wish to be on the wrong end of this trend.

I wish only to provide excellent design, support, and service to these clients, and is exactly why I am seeking a competent designer.

You mention that you are not interested in sales, do you mean that you are not interested in more business development? Or that you yourself are not trained in sales?

I am looking for someone to partner with as there is huge potential in my marketplace, in fact, the reason I'm not out selling more aggressively is I need to make sure I can get the work done!~ b/c I've tried to do them myself and I just get frustrated. I'm also not pleased with the results of some of these generators, as they're often not that great looking, and I want to command a decent premium for the time and work it takes to develop a client, and in return deliver a superior product.

Could you PM me with your contact information if you are interested in helping me to build sites? That'd be fantastic, thank you! Dave

    TheAttraction & HawaiinSon,

I create mobile sites as well and would be very much interested in talking to you about your outsourcing needs. If you would PM me (I can't PM you yet), I would be more than happy to send you my qualifications and also some links of other work that I have done to date.

    Thanks

    TheAttraction,

I am unable to PM yet as well. So you will need to PM me also.

I wanted to go a step further to offer a warning based on knowledge that was recently brought to my attention. Some of the new companies offering mobile cms products are doing so using platforms that are not exactly legitimate. What I mean by this is that they are using snippets of code that are not licensed for commercial use. These frameworks include SENCHA among others. Business like this are a HUGE mistake to get involved with. They will cost you much headache and clients in the long haul.

I own a development company (and have been a developer for 19 years) and I also own a hosting company. I started a company in January (iLocalMobile LLC) to address the issue of providing mobile sites for businesses. I would love to discuss the partnership relationship with you.

I am not sure if I can PM yet as I just signed up for the Pro account. Feel free to PM me or send me an email. I would love to talk to you about a partnership.

      Thanks,
      Tim

Funny how mobile has brought business back to the 90's! Building a website on WordPress is easy, but building a static HTML mobile site is going back to "old school" and if you are not familiar with that technology... your lost. Plus it's a lot more work with coding the main site to mobile switch depending on how the main site is set up.

The wpmobile pro themes are slower I have found out (even with cache plugins). It's because of WordPress. You need SPEED in this biz. The basic static HTML mobile sites are greasy fast. Every second counts in mobile.

Glad to see a lot of positive posts in this thread and can see a JV in the works. I am sure someone here at WF would be willing to help out on the technical side of things.

I'm in this mobile niche too, doing it all by myself which is not easy...

That's not always the case, if the developer knows what they are doing they can make a mobile WP site not only run fast but also make it validate 100% against the mobileOk checker, which is more than can be said for a lot of the current mobile solutions out there. This is where the mobile developers experience really shows.

Not all mobile WP solutions are equal thats for sure!

        Hope that helps,

        Jay

Completely agree with that. Basic HTML sites work much better for mobiles. It will change, obviously with 4G, 5G etc. But for now HTML is faster....

I'm sure someone will come with a wordpress like site for mobile or a software mobile web editor for advance programmers, I know that some like Adobe offer these tools but very expensive.
Mobile is the new trend and not hype.
Today I've decided to quit my job at current web design company, I filled my departure and manager is not really happy, associates have to talk.

I m so confident that I will open a new webdesign company to build mobile sites.

I've check with a friends lawyer and told me that as far as I don't have a contract signed when hired about non competition agreement, I can open my business. So will start in JAN 2012

You'll see more and more new mobile site builder really soon, so don't stress!

Hey TheAttraction if you send me a PM I'll get you a review copy of our Wordpress plugin that we're about to release that will allow you to create, manage, and deploy mobile landing pages and websites through your Wordpress dashboard. It's pretty slick!

I've bought this and whilst it is fairly basic in it's design - it does the job - I personally have moved away from Mobile and FB Fanpages done in Wordpress - still use WP for main sites though
