Hello, Real estate agents usually provide the ability to search available properties on a database. I'd like to offer mobile websites to real estate agents but I don't know how to offer a property search facility. Does anyone know if there are third party tools or services which might help with this? Is it feasible for the mobile website to make queries on the standard website and then to report the results back to the mobile user, or is that just a crazy notion? Thanks, Dave |

Kurio.mobi offers mobile, searchable MLS services in many US cities.

I havent tried this but i am sure there are some programers on the WF or odesk who could reformat a real estate feed to fit a mobile site. Another option would be to feed the listing info into your data base and then output it for your site

The data base will need to have the fields etc mobalised if you want to use it and it can get very expensive not to mention the time to integrate. Getting permission off the provider will be even harder. Q |

Many MLS will also offer a RSS Feed that can be integrated to a Mobile site as well.

Brokers pay a monthly fee to have that data displayed on their websites. As a developer for real estate websites in different cities I can tell you it's a nightmare getting 1 MLS to co-exist with another MLS on a single website because the database fields will be labeled differently although they mean the same: LIST_101 = address in Utah, whereas ILS_ADDRESS = address in Montana. This would have to be a custom job, no 3rd party provider will give you this without showing their ads all over your data. So your best bet is to become and broker and license the data in each state you plan on using. Hope this helps. |

Honestly most IDX systems now come with some sort of mobile platform. You can try to offer mobile real estate search but since you need to be a RE agent to have access to the feed that might be quite difficult.

Just here to see the shenanigans.
