Hi All, I have been trying to get an iPhone app created that preferable uses the GPS, Google Maps, and places on google maps. All of the responsive I've got were around $500. Is this reasonable? Should I even attempt to create it myself with a builder? Thanks in advance! |

$500 seems very cheap if you are getting someone who knows what they are doing. Be careful, at that price you might just be getting someone who is using a simple app builder themselves. If you are getting a decent app, even with very limited features, you won't find many people willing to do it that cheap. make sure you ask to see their previous work and you might even want to contact some of their past clients to see how happy they are with their apps. |

Pricing on these types of things is very subjective. As a developer myself, I can say it really depends on the features that you want to put into your app. The more features, the more it should cost. Also, the more experienced your developer the higher the hourly rate will be so the overall cost "might" be more. But with an experienced developer the time it takes to create the app should theoretically be lower. To me $500 would be a good starting point and then it would go up depending on the features.

Hello Gary Vanyerchuk fan, I recently got an iphone app created using similar features. It costed $2500 and some guys from Iran created it. The final app they created had lots of problems, it crashed all the time and I lost lots of time to get the app on the market. If you have a good idea, get a good reputable developer to make your app! You won't regret it. Rule applies: You get what you pay for |

And in some cases, you don't get what you pay for... Try and find someone who has reviews already.

From my experience it can be hard to get an iPhone app listed on the App Store when you use a popular online app builder to make it. Apple tries to avoid having too many similar apps, and I expect more resistance from them in future. I had to have some of my apps redone by hand, and had to add some features that could not be made by the online builder alone. I guess every situation is different.... |

Hi, $ 500 is pretty good amount, if they are really good to do . Better to check with there before apps done. So that you can go a head with them for this bucks. |

Thanks everyone for your input. What about android apps? Do prices change because it is open source?
