I'm just starting to make some mobile sites but I am frustrated by the small file sizes needed and the bare-bones look of many mobile sites- I want to have a decent amount of images and graphics and to make it look like a faithful yet functional representation of my clients desktop sites. So I needed to find an easy way to shrink the file sizes without messing about in photoshop. I found this... JPG/JPEG Image File Size Reducer and Batch Image Resizer - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com (no affiliation) Free, quick, easy and it works well. My WC3 score increased dramatically once I'd pasted in my new 'shrunken' images. All the best Sev |

Gifbot is an online tool I have been using for image optimization for some time now: HTML code help, search engine optimization and web site maintenance tools by NetMechanic. Works very well. |

Compression tools and mobile web development are a no brainer if your not already using them you should... Yahoo offers a compression service too that I use all the time... http://www.smu****.com/ysmush.it/ Guess wf doesnt like that url so replace stars with "sh it" no spaces ![]() Whilst you are at you may want to consider compressing your CSS Unless your doing it automatically you can use this: http://www.minifycss.com/css-compressor/ Hope that helps |
