I am curious if anyone has done any qr code tracking and if so do you have any daily averages per establishment on how many times the code was accessed ? I know this is going to vary a lot for a bunch of different reasons but it would be interesting.

It must be to early to get a accurate report, in the mobio report it claims that the largest percentage of scanners were female and in the comscore report claims the exact opposite , also the age seems to be conflicting in both of those reports.. Its interesting to see however that the scanning stats are growing by leaps and bounds,, seems that the codes need to be more prevalent in everyday life,, one bad note is that most people don't think before they use one and most of them I see in the local news paper just links to a desktop site which is sure to turn people off. |

We use our own qr tracking service - we did a small campaign by placing posters up in the nightclub with the QR codes on them they also have the actual mobile site url and good call to action which promotes their VIP sms service. The amount of qr codes scans is definitively on the increase - seems also the number of sign ups to the VIP sms service seems to be directly proportional to the increase in scans too. Client is very pleased with the progress so far - hopefully and i think it will sign ups and scans will continue to increase month by month. Those people that are not deploying proper qr code tracking or linking to a regular desktop site to me would be considered a potential new client! |

I lost a sale to a company with 3 magazines when I hinted about offering result tracking to their clients who took ads in the mags. I guess they didn't want to scare them away with bad results... I quickly realized this and took this off the table but too late, it had begun a downward spiral. Tracking can be good of course, but at first, I'd track it for myself as in some towns/markets, few people scan QR codes so why show bad results? If there are good numbers, then of course, share them |

The tracking is good but what really makes the case to implement a QR campaign is data, if the offer is good enough the scanner will fill out a lead capture form but for a product manufacturer the end user lead is useless and will probably just be passed on to their retail vender. The real meat and potatoes for manufacturers is all the other data that is capture like age, gender and so on. Then they can begin to compile profiles on strategic marketing. |

As far as tracking, any suggestions on a script to set up QR tracking links? Jay, you said you have one you use (custom made)? I want to offer this as a service, but haven't been able to find something that has some good stats to it. Thanks, John |

We have customized it to be as minimalistic and unbranded as much as possible so people can use it for their own clients almost like a white label system - if you want to take it for a spin check out the front page Login as you will see its very simple looking and you can also iframe it on your own site the signup page is hidden so clients dont see what you are paying for it Memebership options - you will see there is a free option on there. @JayRhome - we manage pretty much all of our clients mobile marketing, we also deploy a good call to action and provide information for the actual scanners to actually understand what the qr codes are and what to do with them and where to get a scanner app from... i have found like with anything new it takes a bit of educating the client and the end user but its worth it we do this through our marketing posters/flyers we create for our clients... if scans are low but they convert into something i don't see that as a bad thing, since we provide all stats for both qr codes, mobile and sms we suggest ways to improve the interaction additionally we typically lock people in for 12 months - whilst its too early to say what our retention rate our feedback has been for the most part positive and will be surprised if we dont have returning customers. One thing we did do is create a mobile site they can access by sending a txt that points them to a mobile website we created that tells them more about qr codes and gives them a link to a place to download a qr code reader app. Am thinking if mobile phone manufacturers or cell phone companies included a qr code app as standard the qr code hemisphere will explode much more rapidly! Cheers, Jay | |

OK Jay, I can be a bit slow at times. Found the button and am signed up/logged in. Will give it a play. One more question (can do this by PM if you prefer). Is the site active for full time use? In other words, I want to add this to the mobile packages I am offering, so if things work out, I would probably upgrade the service. Also, is there a way to download reports? Would be nice to provide clients. Thanks, John |

I have a private label QR code enabled on one of my websites. Works well with conversions.
