Lots of people have been asking about different industries to target for mobiles and over the last 6 months we have found a lot that have come through our QR Code generator. One of our best client bases is in the manufacturing area. I love these because they are adding new products so we get ongoing income and can also suggest new formats of advertising like coupons etc. Many already have the information such as brochures, videos, manuals etc so content is simply reformatting for the mobile platform. Example 1. Bedding and furniture Manufacturer Think about it for a moment you buy a bed but very few people keep the manual and so this company wanted us to create a QR Code for each of their different beds linking to the specifications and care of the bed. They create new models quite often so we get ongoing work for this client. Example 2. Wine Makers We have done a number of these now providing the various information for each bottle of wine and they add a QR Code on the label. Example 3. Vehicle Spare Parts A very interesting one we did is creating a QR Code for Various High Performance car spare parts manufacturer and add on systems. Example 4. Botique Food Manufacturers We have done a number of boutique food manufacturers providing things like ingredients, preparation suggestions and other information all through a QR Code and mobile site. Due to our NDA I cannot give you specifics but thought this may stir up your creative juices. Maybe you could add some of your more creative niches? Quentin |

Another use is service industries such as plumbers, heating and ventilation installers, any industry that carries out regular servicing of equipment. By adding a simple label to the product, with a qr code, users can call for help quickly if equipment requires servicing / repairing. There is also an opportunity to add qr codes to warranty labels, and equipment can be registered by scanning qr code. |

How about a qr code on that Christmas toy one has to put together late Christmas Eve giving step by step video instructions..... there could even be "language" links that lead to pages in the viewers native tongue, eliminating the 1/2 inch thick book one has to look through to find the 2 pages that are written in their language! |

The Spare Car Parts market would be very useful... How many people are out replacing a part or even simple maintenence, and have a question about installation, specs, etc...or even a quick video...that they can view on the phone when they need access...very handy - or even your local mechanic sending you seasonal safety tips and reminders about your car on occasion... And - What about Car Clubs? QR stickers for the windows that goes to a site showing the Build? They could even have sponsor links... Great for Shows... I haven't checked an IKEA catalog lately...but I would be surprised if they did not use QR for many things...especially their cartons, safety, and assembly instructions - |

Yes we create a mobile site for the manufacturer and then host it and link the QR Code to it. We also have a tracking business so we add that into the mix but you could just add Google analytics. This is where the content management system comes in because many of the larger clients we are now approaching have multiple products so we need pages and sub pages which most systems will not let you do efficiently. So I guess people want to know pricing We have one company with over 100 products just to start so we quoted $50 a page and qr code. Now we will probably not use the vertical system for these but simple text menu. Q |

I just posted this in another thread because I think it's a huge potential market. Thought I'd include it here. IMHO the Antique Stores, Crafty Shops and any niche small business found in rural America need to embrace the technology but do it in the bigger city nearby to capture the interest of folks driving through. In my area there are several resort communities that draw a large following in multiple "seasons" ... skiing, hunters, boaters, off roading and your usual stuff like camping or hiking ... I could go on and on. In each case there a MANY small towns along the route that are drying up in this economy. I'll bet if they were to run small ads promoting a mobile site or using a QRCode they'll find an increase in traffic to their stores that would have never stopped before. After the holidays I plan to hit the road to these small towns to see if my theory pans out. |

Over Christmas I took a week off and took some of my family to Vietnam for a holiday. Talking with lots of different travelers I found some other great businesses to target for mobile websites that are a little out of the ordinary. Product Manuals One guy had a lic for a lot of different manuals so we maybe converting them to mobile sites. Pottery Another lady I met was a potter and was interested in a mobile site and QR Code for her products. Chairs and Furniture One couple ran a furniture and chair hire business and this opens up all sorts of possibilities. Air Conditioners Another person was an Air Conditioner installer and was interested in putting QR Codes on the air conditioning unit to provide basic info on a mobile website about the unit As you can see the opportunities are endless its just about talking to people and getting the ideas flowing. What did you notice over the holidays? Q |

I was trying to sell a jewelry store over the weekend (it didn't happen), but in their display case was a designers display with a QR Code. I scanned it figuring it would go to a regular site, but I was surprised to find it actually went to a mobile site! It's nice but doesn't look any better than the ones we produce: *HaroutR Mobile Home Page BTW, I like how his Gallery works. Does anyone know how he did it? |
