mobile opt-in marketing, anyone offering packages?
Share on:

hey,

so im pretty new to the mobile game and have been out in the field selling my new package of services. im selling a variety of services, appoinment setting, marketing lists, mobile optimised websites, all that kind of stuff. I'm doing this at business network events, with my phone out, so i can show people their existing website and then a close niche example of a mobile optimised website.

Anyway.... thats just the background so you get what i am doing.

my main objection at the moment are around the business owner having to do more work to make a successful mobile list, the websites and appointment setting just sell like hotcakes.....seriously never had it this easy before, people just love seeing stuff on their phones!

I made a PDF with tips and tricks of how to do offers and discounts etc. adding stuff to existing marketing and flyers and lots of ideas for getting opt ins. how often to text etc etc. (its a really good little doc!) I attach it to an email and refer to it in conversation as a good blueprint to start their marketing. The clients just don't seem hugely interested in pushing this themselves....therefore they aren't then getting great value out of the services im providing and i want my clients to profit and make a ton of money. i want my clients to get the best out of my services they can. the best. this will make them more money, keep them as a client for a long time and make it easier to upsell other web services.

so yeah my thought was that i should start offering additional 'advertising' packs as an addition to those who are not willing to do the advertising work themselves. these would be mobile optimised advertisments (qr codes on flyers/business cards/billboards/employee name badges and t-shirts/POS signage etc.) all made up a sent to them so they can just put up their new signage or send out their flyers. i have even thought about going as far as (this is a future idea for development if the above works out) having a member of staff to visit the business site and talk through good techniques and ideas to get opt ins for that specific business (i.e. working out what signage would work best in what location etc.)

has anyone done this before, do you think its a good idea? any ideas on how to improve what im offering? whats your 2cents?

There was a great thread here on WF where a guy talked about doing work at his local Chamber and made up "packages" that included business cards with QR codes, etc. Similar to your idea, he was doing quite well with it.

I'll try to find that thread.

Seems like you have already answered your question on whether you should offer the advertising packages/services. You clients are telling you they want it, but don't want to do it themselves (understandable).

The whole idea is the more you offer (based on what they want), the more you can mix and match packages. Plus it helps you make you indispensable to them for the services they need.

What they want is to get more business and make more money, which is your job.

If it helps, this is what I am looking to do. I already have worked out the ones I will use for printing, T-shirts, ads, etc.

Thanks,

John

When was the last time you saw a "Do it Yourself Triple Bypass " or a "Do it Yourself Dental work" Service?

Of course these Merchants don't want to do the work! That is the importance of providing managed services.

If you don't, at least initially, manage your clients mobile marketing effort for them then you are going to see massive attrition and you will be lucky if you keep that new client for more than 90 Days, and probably less.

Mobile Marketing only works if it is actually used. Managing a clients Account ensures that it is being done properly AND increases your income!

Thank you for your response and i think you hit the nail on the head with that line. I've been going at it with a bit of a 'set and forget' attitude and this is clearly not the correct way to go about selling this particular services. I will defietly take this on board and try and make my services as hands free as possible.

Haha, yes John I agree, I did end up answering my own question. It was also a bit of a feeler really to see if anyone else had been considering this option. I'm still a bit concerned of the extra work load this might add on and the confusion that might potentially arise when acting as a 3rd party between a printing company. I think I will have to work on some systems to make sure this process is organized and efficient.

Thanks for you input, appreciate it.

Glad to hear that others are trying out this method too.

Do you have any idea of what yourr going to do for costings, i was thinking a 10-20% mark up on the initial print costs, do you think this is a fair price to charge. I guess I will just have to wait and see what price points work best in my area/niches.

Work out your cost first with a printer, then you can gauge the interest in price from there. What I am going to do (I found a full service print shop that does it all, has a quick turnaround and needs to increase their business as well) is leverage the exclusivity of their services in return for better pricing. Am also going to see about swapping out services.

At least that's my plan. Nice thing they do just about any kind of printing, plus silk screen, t-shirts (embroidered), lettering, etc. A one stop shop.

That's what I am looking at. My experience is people will pay a bit more for convenience and quality. I know I do. With establishing a solid working relationship with the printer, I feel it can get me better service for my clients. At least this is the way I have always done business, so I know it can work.

Main thing is, if you can't make something off of doing it, then walk away. But I think when you are doing service packages, it can help increase the bottom line.

Thanks,

John
