Is anyone here building mobile sites for real estate agents in Canada and pulling the MLS listings? If so how do you go about doing this and what does it cost?

I have a small real estate team as a client and I build individual pages for each featured home, with an imbedded Youtube video virtual tour. I would like to be able to pull all their listings from the MLS database and add a search function.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest asking your Client if they have such an API available through a service they might use.

One thing to keep in mind is that MLS is a generic term and their are a variety of companies that offer MLS services.

Most people mistakenly believe that it is part of the Board of Realtors, but it isnt.

Thanks- Hypetext. I know there are other mobile companies pulling the MLS.ca feed. I was wondering if anyone here was doing that. I might have to ask my client re the API, but would prefer to find out how to do it first.

Kayla, from what I remember, the real estate companies are the ones who can get access to the data. You would have to have them get this access for you. I also believe that you will need to sign agreements with MLS specifying that the data will only be used for that brokerage. If you do work for another, you need to have them get you access for them as well.
