What is the best option to expand Twilio functionality?

For someone who wants to use Twilio to offer SMS to clients, what is the best system (Plugin our script etc.) to use with Twilio (not interested in information about other providers)?

I need the ability to:

Have random draws for prizes i.e. enter to win a gift certificate. System sends SMS to winner on draw date and messages to non winners
Enter to win: i.e. 1 in 4 win a free pizza
Send SMS based on a schedule
Build different lists with optins and sending back required disclosure
Appointment reminders would be nice

I am sure there are other features I am forgetting. Anything capable of doing this with Twilio? Thanks on advance.

Did you try Openvbx?

Some of those things you can do with OpenVBX, but others you'll need either a plugin like Chad Wyatt's appointment reminder, or just having an OpenVBX plugin coded for you. You can find a Twilio group on Odesk. OpenVBX can do alot right out of the box though. Just use your imagination and build a flow to make it do what you want using existing plugins out there.

Thanks. I do have openvbx. Any existing plugins that you can recommend for openvbx that might do what I am looking for? Thanks!

Chad Smith has some good plugins including the stacks plugin for autoresponders and the random plugin for contests.

If you know PHP & MySQL you can code for Twilio extremely easily. I am building an SMS marketing app right now and I was very impressed with how well documented and just plain good the Twilio API's are.

Chad Wyatts stuff is excellent. Be prepared to spend several days, if not a week or two understanding and making it run proper. Nothing is ever as easy as everyone tells you.
