Whats best mobile website builder?

I have tried over a dozen. The best is hard to say because it depends on what you want to accomplish. That is like asking "what is the best way to market a product?"

In general I prefer mobisiteglore.com. It is the most robust site.

Mofuse.com is around $8 per month. Like I said it all depends on what you what to do.

I also love detectmobilebrowser.com.

For Wordpress sites, Plugin Buddy Mobile is great! PluginBuddy | WordPress Plugins

Also you can use Trumpia.com is quite good.

There is many more I like, but it looks like I gave you plenty already.

I've tried a bunch, and my ABSOLUTE favorite is My Mobile Business.

The sites are absolutely stunning (there are some crappy looking mobile sites out there), the training is excellent (will make you wish you had a cool Australian accent) and while it seems WP mobile sites are they way to go... they are bloated with scripts and take long to load- a killer to a mobile site.

Will Williams developed these to be extremely light (all php), yet very easy to edit (no programming experience needed, but you will be editing php files. But he makes it easy).

These are sites I've cranked out mobiles sites for in less than 30 minutes

Dave - is that the system from warrior WillR or another Will? If someone else, can you share a link?

I have WillR's and Quentins systems and they're both excellent and easy to work with if you don't mind modifying a little code, and there are are few other WSOs that I've purchased that were worthwhile too.

I used to like the idea of a hosted solution like gomobi - but I like the flexibility of having a template I can tweak in a hundred different ways and especially like that I don't have to pay someone a monthly fee that I then have to markup and pass on to a client.

Yep, it's WillR's product. I'm like you... tried GoMobi, but not a ton of flexibility, and don't like the monthly hosting.

Here's what I did: bought a BlueHost account when they were running a Christmas special ($2.95 per month). All my local client's mobile sites will (eventually) be redirected and hosted there.

I'm offering people FREE mobile sites... it takes me about a half hour for each.

I'm then going to charge $39/month.. which includes hosting, 2 edits, analytics reporting.

I will.. I have an advantage that I've been in a local biz networking group (BNI) for 3 years as the web guy. So everyone completely trusts me... finding new clients is never an issue. If I recommend this, I think they'll do it. But, I'm VERY sensitive to protect my reputation, and not be the hard sell guy... I think it pays off.

Nick, the process is three fold with Will's system:
1. Create a mobile subdomain (i.e. m.domain.com)
2. Upload the folder of php files

I've heard good things about this product elsewhere but .... That sounds pretty techy .... can you use a visual editor to do all that (like Komposer???)?
You said earlier that you give away the site then charge for the follow-up, edits etc (did I get that right?).
Do YOU install it no their site? At no charge?

  Does anyone know anything about MobeeArt? I've been looking at it. They have a couple of programs, one pretty basic and the other a little more advanced.
  
  I don't like all the companies that don't put any pricing on their website. MobeeArt doesn't either, but for some strange reason, I filled out their contact form which required a phone number (I hate that) but again, for some strange reason, I went ahead and submitted it.
  
  After several email exchanges, I finally had a GoToMeeting for 1 hour with them.
  
  It looks pretty good to me, (I am definitely no techie). I thought for what they were offering, it would be to expensive for me, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Quentin's first, then Will's programs are how I got started. Both are excellent investments in my opinion if you want to learn how to produce sites. I've opted to go for unique custom designs rather than templates, but both have their place. With those guy's pricing, it's a no brainer if you're serious about learning this stuff!

  I second the suggestion to look at Lime. That's what we used for our site. We think it came closer to being what we wanted than all the others we looked at. Also, the SMS platform "ain't too shabby" either. They fall hand-in-hand with each other.

Why do people go to third party systems when it comes to building mobile website, what if you used a third party system and they go belly up... who are you going to fix that, and don't say that it can't happen cus i have seen really big internet companies go belly up that really hurt my business. (I-bill, Registerfly)

I understand that these applications are making your life much easier, but to be honest if your looking for a builder maybe you're better of just to outsource your designs and keep full control when your working with clients, you don't wanna get sued now do you?

  That is what I am looking to do I got WP Mobile pro but it is well WP. I am a control freak so I want complete control over my sites. Hosting, design etc.
  
  Trying to think long term, need to have HTML5 with CSS that adjusts for mobile. HTML5rocks.com has some great information for having one website for both desktop and mobile, using autodetection to drive which CSS to use. Using a subdomain for mobile sites will eventually be phased out in my opinion.
  
  If anyone has some templates in HTML5/CSS (main/mobile css) for use in Dreamweaver I would definitely be interested in seeing examples!

Ohw it will... i am sure that there are now people setting up these services which will be used by marketers and will blow up in their faces...

With somethings you can't get around third party services, like domains and hosting, but these type of services should be avoided like the plague imho.

What would happen if you have lets say a 100 clients on such a service and that services says, "he guys, i am going to quit this service"?

You would be in a world of hurt... For those people (especially in the US) i hope you have a good lawyer, cus they will sue your ass of lol.

Just prevent hat by building these sites yourself, you don't need templates ore anything, there is so much free stuff available that there is no excuses to use such services...

Surely any desktop website makes use of a 3rd party doesn't it? What is hosting after all? I'm not saying you shouldn't do due diligence on a company but unless you are actually hosting the sites yourself then you are relying on a 3rd party.

If your hosting leaves you, you can get another hosting within a view hours, if you have 100 clients on a service like this and it goes belly up, than tell me me, how would you recover?

You can't, and i have seen big companies go belly up (registerfly, Ibill) so don't think that one of these builders can't... but he, its your business where you have your sites. I would never ever use a builder/hosting solution like that.

Hi YellowGreenMedia, I like your idea, the thing is I didnt find any one yet to work with in tha way. At Fiverr for example there are people who make mobile website but they host the site they build, so there is no way for me to get a fee from hosting.

What would you recommend in order to do what you just said?

Thanks for initiating this thread--very timely for me. And thanks to everyone contributing to it. As a newbie this was super helpful. I had already purchased a decent WP site builder but didn't really realize that they are much slower than a slim php builder.

Dave, a special shout out to you for your recommendations. I just put my nickle down on WillR's product and am about to start downloading. Not that my opinion means much, but I will look at it through the eyes of a newb and provide a review here and on the WSO.

I will stay away from plugins like http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ptinforms.html in the future..

I also bought it, ( as i do almost all of the mobile wso`s ) but you don`t want to put your mobile sites at the mercy of the (at the moment) non responsive developer...

Wordpress was never made for mobile! While it can sometimes come close, unless you have the perfect cocktail of plugins it will never be 100% optimized.

And even when it does work, a plug-in changes/requires updating and the house of cards gets shaky.

I personally recommend a hosted/mobile first solution.

I couldn't agree with you more Legacy3. Been using ezmobilesitegenerator and very happy with it.

I get great result and so easy to use, its like fill in the blanks and you're done.

I like dudamobile for a couple reasons:

1. very easy to update/customize
2. has very useful features like click to call or click for directions etc.
3. no programming knowledge needed what so ever

The only downside is that there is a monthly fee, if you signup as a reseller its only $6/month which I pass on to my clients.

I was just looking through this thread and did not see anyone mention of catalyst as an option for mobile sites. Not sure what catalyst is?

Its a Wordpress theme framework with unlimited customization options and includes mobile options.

if you have an existing website like I did, I had this guy from fiverr convert it to mobile friendly version for very good price, then bought m.MyAddress.com format from my ISP for $40 annually.. hope u guys can be benefited from mobile marketing... I will convert 1 page website to Mobile website for $5 on fiverr.com

Ive tried a few different ways and I agree that WP is not quite there for mobile. Right now I'm using an HTML5 composer and just making the sites from scratch.

Super easy and fast to make but a little bit of a hassle to update... if your lazy like me

Jay, I also use an HTML5 editor and several scripts to build mobile sites along with WP. For ease of updates, WP is hard to beat.

You may find that when your WP mobile sites are on a clean WP install and paired with a good caching plugin like WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, or Quick Cache you will see near instant load times as if you had used one of the other methods to build your mobile site.

WP can be a great tool to build mobile just as it is a great tool to build desktop sites even though it was only originally intended for blogs.

This is turning into a very good thread. Some very good points and advice.

Have to agree about My Mobile Business. It has helped me lots and has been the money maker overall.

I have been experimenting with HTML5 and finding it to be great for simple sites. It could of course be great for complex sites, but I need to learn more.

Also learning the jQuery Mobile | jQuery Mobile setup. Not bad at all, just little learning curve.

Have found EZ Mobile Site Generator (Irene's WP Plugin) to be great for the more complex layouts. With the release of V3 and HTML export it may become my favorite but time will tell.

SO, please do keep sharing. I am enjoying all the advice and examples.

I'm soon gone have like hundreds business owners to contact me for a mobile website, I can't do all in a short time, what will be the best solution?
Outsource? but I'm afraid he will take away my clients.
Mobile platform like duda reseller?
Any ideas?

That's interesting! Looks like they're Lime us using the mobile website builder from piJnz mobile page landing builder & mobile site mangement tool for agencies | Mobile CMS Solution for building your flock which from the looks of some of the screen shots, looks alot like a mobile website builder sold as a WSO last summer.

I'll have to look more into that as that was a decent WSO, but needed some improvements made before I was really willing to start using it.

Hmm. I don't know about the WSO last summer because I wasn't a member back then.

Regarding PiJnz, it looks like it's very similar to what Lime is using...and it may very well be the same program. However, it also looks like PiJnz'n lowest white label plan has a monthly fee of $165 and a maximum of 40 sites at that price. Additional sites on that plan are $5.00 per month for each site. The have a maximum number of total monthly unique visitors, also, but that maximum number seems to be pretty generous. The way I understand it, if your unique visitors exceed that limit, you are charged for the next higher plan which has a monthly fee of $395 per month.

The way I understand Lime's mobile website plan is that you can have an unlimited number of sites and unlimited visitors. To add their website builder to their lowest SMS plan is a charge of $40 per month. Their other plans include the website builder automatically. And ALL of Lime's plans are true white label.

That's exactly what they're doing according to the press release Lime Cellular to Resell piJnz.com Mobile Site Builder Platform to Provide Complete Mobile Marketing Solution for Clients - Yahoo! News

This may have changed since I played with that here last summer, but my biggest gripes then were that they hosted everything and you also couldn't host more than just a few pages at one time. I really like the site builder though, so may have to really look into it again and see how it's improved.

  1- Build a professional website that targets your local area
  2- Set a mockup for mobile or use a simulator to show clients sites (before, after)
  3- Build a facebook page with a contest (win free mobile site design or ipad, like us; for example)
  4- Make a list of potential clients from your area
  
  Get FB fans, send email to potential clients....
  
  Make sure all is ready then reach your goals.
  
  If your marketing was mixed correctly just like when you make a cake, it could get you 100+ customers in a short time, the problem is: you must be able to satisfied them or it could be a nightmare!
  
  Having 100+ clients is not something WOW but almost everyone in mobile design here have it, it can be in a short time if well marketing done or take longer for others, It's just a minimum to have otherwise must convert into another business to make profit and a living.

When sharing lists compiled by another author, a link or at least a byline for proper attribution (like 4WebMaster did) is good web etiquette; sometimes the legal requirement. (just sharing as an FYI for those that are not in the know) - sorry if that sounded didactic.

Apologies - I hardly post here. I assumed I could reply to a particular message with the reply buttons on each message...it was something half way down on page 2.

Now to offer some constructive input on topic: I'll drop a plug for MyMobileBusiness. I take a research approach instead of a "lemme try it" approach, so after looking into many builders and programs, I went with the one from Will with no regrets.

It looks like there are some other good options if you're up for taking the path of a coder, which I may explore down the road. Right now, MyMobileBusiness has everything I need; leaving me wanting for nothing.

Now that I think back to my experience with this last summer (and I dont know if that WSO offered at the time was a reseller of PiJin or something that later evolved into PiJin) but the claim at that time was that you could create unlimited pages.

That much was true, as you could create a site and download it to host it somewhere else and then go to work on another site, but then the only way to edit the site you created earlier was to go in by hand with a text editor and make changes to it.

It sounds like in its current form that PiJIn has much more generous limits as does the version Lime if offering with their accounts, but it would be a nice feature that exported websites could be imported back into the system if edits needed to be made in the future.

Would be interested in what you folks think is the best mobile site builder.

I'm using mobisitegalore. It's dead easy to use. OK the end result is not awesome but isn't that the whole idea. Produce something simple with one clicks to get everything the user needs. I download the site so can change any code which is handy (mind I am no code expert but you can add bits for seo etc)

Gomobi looks good but there are compliance problems by the look of it.

Any comments on your experiences with site builders appreciated.

Ya....I tried DudaMobile and totally agree with Kevin;

(a couple of client desktop sites we've tried to convert on Dudamobile, just did not convert well at all. The formatting was off, the important pieces were missing while non-important pieces were in the premium screen space spot (and looking horrible). I just found it easier to spend 15-30 minutes copying and pasting and arranging the information the way my customer would want to see it on a mobile device and making it look like "candy" (on the hosted mobile CMS that we are using).

The results just weren't presentable at all for some of the sites (about half) that we've tried.

Yup....MOST of the sites that Duda created for me....WITHIN SECONDS! Were NOT presentable to my prospects. Most of the sites had Flash somewhere and (of course) did not show and....most of the Photos came across in the wrong spots of smaller than they should be...etc.

The result being (for US doers)....I CANNOT present Dudas "Quickie Sites" to my prospects.

So....what's the solution?

1) Get WillR's or Quentin's programs (learn them)
2) Using www.IPhoneTester.co (or a similar Simulator)...send prospects what their sites look like on a Phone.
3) Tell them YOU have created a "Mobile Site" for them (you really haven't...YET!) and...if they'd like to SEE it....they can Reply to the email.
4) When you get responses....using Will's or Quenton's programs....make a "Sample" site....hosted on YOUR Host.
5) Then....discuss any changes they'd like and CLOSE the deal!

I agree with this, I am a Duda reseller but I do not actually "resell" their product. I do however use it as a tool. When I am hitting the pavement and come across a hot prospect it can be useful to show them an IDEA of what there site will look like. If they decide to buy I would then build there site.

The great thing is that Duda usually does a good job with the home page capturing the logo ect. You can usually tweak a few things quickly and have a live version of their site viewable on a simulator, or a link they can type in there phone within 5 minutes. BUT I would not attempt to do it in front of the client because as mentioned in the above post, some sites just do not convert.

I guess my point is that Duda can def be a good TOOL used to help sell mobile sites but the actual site should not be built there because of reasons already mentioned, and of coarse the fact that NEITHER YOU OR YOUR CLIENT WILL OWN THE SITE!

If you want to build a mobile friendly website...you might want to check out www.biz250.mobi its robust and has a lot of features. I bought WILLR's and would recommend his as well...

WillR's My Mobile Business is outstanding. Even if you are with a company such as Lime or Avid who have built in website builders, I'm not sure you can go wrong with the HTML based sites that Will shows you how to build.

Sure, you can use the built in components as well, but I've used Lime's and I've used Will's. Both do a nice job, but I could bump out a really nice looking site quicker and easier with Will's.

Having built sites that are independent of white label platforms is a good insurance policy in the unlikely event your white label provider were to go out of business or experience a significant outage at some point. There are other WP based website builders out there that some will swear by. I'm sure they are outstanding options as well, but for my money, Will's is the way to go if you are going to be building mobile sites outside of a white label system you may be with.

I think WillR's system uses PHP, not HTML... I'm not sure but I believe Quinten Browns system does use HTML... I just got WillR's system yesterday and I do think he is awesome. I just looked at Quintens and if one has the ability to put the page together in photoshop which I think he said he does and then puts the script to it... IMHO that would allow a person to make much fancier pages with nicer graphics... I am going to buy his system also to try it out. I like the idea of being able to have so many different templates.

Does a website need to have a mobile phone version? Many mobile web browsers can handle normal website templates anyway, or many templates have an automatic mobile phone version anyway, don't they?

For example, opera mini does this, don't they?

Only if you don't mind looking at a site that is all scrunched up. The website is displayed in mini format. Yes you can enlarge but then you have to pan all over to find what you are looking for. Gets old really fast. A true mobile site is designed from the outset to be easy to navigate with your fingers. Most mobile users also are looking for information differently than a desktop user. So, for example, you would want to make it easy for them to call you or let them know your address to get there. And no most themes do not have a mobile version. And the good ones that do, make it so that you can create a whole different site than what is displayed to a desktop user.

That's not necessarily true....Responsive sites look great on mobile phones - and don't require a separate theme! There's tons of them out there now - heck even WP's standard twenty-eleven is now responsive...And, I'm actually wondering why everyone wants to do mobile sites for businesses, instead of just saying "Hey, I can revamp your ENTIRE site - make it a responsive site that works with desktop, ipad, tablet, phone, etc....And you'll never have to worry about updating two different sites again."

I think that is where the future is.

I think that is where the future is.

I don't know about you but I don't want to just display the same information to a mobile user that I would to a desktop user. They are two very different types of browsers. Mobile is not just about the responsiveness of the design, it is also about prioritizing and customizing your information for mobile users.

I was thinking on that quite a while. For me the main reason for a mobile site is the different approach and expectation a customer has on a mobile site. He just wants quick info. And somewhere I read about the fact that most of the mobile users just want to have the phone number (about 83 %) and second they want the address/direction (78 %).

If you provide that on a mobile that would be sufficient.

I've been playing around with some builders. Duda mobile seems quite bad. I spend more time cleaning up the site than if I just create it from scratch. I wonder how they got the partnership with google.

One rather decent builder I tried is MobDis. Seems like nobody here tried it yet since I don't see it mentioned.

I have purchased most of the mobile WSO's mentioned here previously, and WillR's system was by far the easiest for me to use, and it makes a really pretty site to boot.

Now that I have a pretty good handle on his system, I plan on getting familiar with some of the other mobile website WSO's I've purchased (there are quite a few good ones to choose from, although WillR's is my favorite) so that I can offer potential clients a wide range of options to choose from.

I would love to see/test a site built with SpinnerPro. Cannot find one on their site, which is very strange - or my glasses need updating cause do not see one.

Just never had much luck with this these types of builders, but there is always the first for everything.

If you know HTML 5 and CSS 3 you can get some free boilerplate templates that you can modify into whatever you need (Twitter Bootstrap & initializr). Plus, if you know some basic JavaScript or jQuery you can use the jQuery Mobile library and build some pretty nice things.

Once you build out the first few sites you can reuse the code and contract out the design work. Plus all of that stuff is open source (aka free).

If you want to learn javaScript just look up codecademy. In a month or two of steady practice you'll have a useful, in-demand skill set.

However, it depends on what you are looking to do. If you absolutely hate tech and don't mind parting with some cash, then paid solutions are the way to go.

I've found warrior WillR's "My Mobile Business" to be the best I've found for building mobile sites. His videos really do a good job of guiding you through the steps and the templates are very flexible. I'm a newbie and I was easily able to adapt the templates to create things not originally included in the set, such as video pages. My clients love the resulting looks.

And Will's Little Red Snapper WSO is great for helping with the logos and other design work.

Also, I really recommend Will's WSO for marketing mobile sites through email video.

I recommend looking at Octomobi.com. Their platform is HTML5, so your mobile websites are technically webapps. They are SUPER affordable, and you can even opt to pay the annual hosting fee and download the app to host it on your server if you prefer.

* Very easy to build
* Function superbly
* Mobile SEO features
* Flexible payment structure (and affordable)
* Host with them for free updates at a super reasonable mo fee, or pay the annual fee and host it yourself. (Simply charge your client the annual hosting fee in addition to your design/build fee.)
* Tested on multiple mobile platforms & browsers

Check out their site for more details. I use Octomobi for basic sites, and own a WL of MobiFriendly that allows me to build more detailed and custom mobile web apps.

Being a lazy and slow worker (and learner), I had to get something that was both easy and fast. I tried many builders and after 12 months of building mobile sites, this is the combination that works best for me:
Mobile Web Pro by Kevin Koop and Dave Cisneros. (Brilliant and extensive video tutorials) Combined with Little Red Snapper by WillR, Colorzilla plugin on Firefox and Chrome's user agent override function as an emulator.
Do this and save yourself 12 months

There are a few good platforms on the market right now but if you don't want to pay hosting and monthly charges you can have your own software to creat mobile sites. I personally use WillR's, Niel b and Jay3866 templates and softwares. They work great for me and my clients.

I have always told my members that there isn't necessarily a one size fits all answer to mobile sites. There are lots of solutions out there, some better than others. Having a combination of tools at your disposal is the best option and will allow you to serve your customers needs a lot better.

That's the problem. People are trying to make mobile equivalents of their main site with all the bells and whistles and weight and code of the main site. A mobile site is not supposed to be a smaller equal to the main site. It's for a very specific purpose and that's usually to get a small amount of information to the mobile user. Location, a click to call, some services and maybe an email form. It's supposed to be very lightweight, load fast and perform a single simple task. That's why (in my opinion) the bloated code filled all bells and whistles "responsive" solution is not the best, most suitable solution if you care for your client and the needs of their mobile visitors. It might be a little bit harder to build a suitable mobile lightweight companion site but it's usually what's required and usually what's best as well.

Yes, a responsive theme doesn't solve some of the problems a standalone mobile website does. They usually are very heavy in code and aren't optimized for loading times on mobile devices. They also usually show the exact same information to both desktop users and mobile users, just layed out in a different manner. Mobile and desktop users are two very different types of people and should be treated as such. The information on a mobile site should be condensed and prioritized for mobile users. Things like opening hours, directions, menus, etc are what a mobile user is looking for. It's not always going to be the same for a desktop user. Desktop users are generally browsing -- mobile users are generally after a specific piece of information and want it as fast as possible.

Everyone has different ideas on responsive design. It does not have to be bulky or slow to load. Use it for light weight sites from time to time with great results. Have some customers who swear by it. Have some new customers come my way because other designers try to talk them out of using and they want it, so send them my way

I use SimpleGrid as a base.

I say each for there own. But the bulk of my mobile business is based on mobile jquery. If you stay way from 99% of the guru's bulky templates and learn basic jQuery and DW 5.5+, you will be a lot better off.

Create commercial grade dedicated jQuery Mobile HTML 5 mobile web sites.
Creates way more than a typical brochure site - with actual functionality.
Does not require that you learn how to program, fill out php templates, be a technical wiz or a graphic designer (tough one, I know).
Does not force you to host a site on an expensive server with monthly fees.
Once-off cost for the builder, that I can use over and over for multiple domains and clients.
Easy to update the website at a client's request.
Allow me to focus on the business of selling and marketing mobile websites, rather than the business of making them.

I haven't spotted one yet that does all the above - but when I do I'll let you know

John, this is a great list, and I totally agree.

I would probably add that a comprehensive set of features, including the ability to support mobile commerce, is also important to that "perfect" solution.

EzMobileSiteGenerator comes pretty close to what you're looking for, though it is not perfect, and I have a few tweaks that I implement before I deliver to the client. I will say this, though. ezMSG has improved a great deal with added features since I bought it last December, and it's my platform of choice for starter mobile sites.

I designed a new set of templates with color combinations that I think are pleasing, and I can crank out a basic site in 15 minutes, using the client submitted data via an online form.

I think it's important to not only consider the design, but also the functionality of the mobile site being built - especially the redirect script. I've seen lots of scripts that will automatically redirect a mobile user to the mobile site from the standard site they arrive on, but I haven't found a good script that will allow the user to go back to the standard site if they prefer.

If you just include a link to the standard site, most scripts will just keep redirecting theme back to the mobile even if they want to stay on the standard site. Maybe a good option would be to have a popup of some type that gives them the option in the first place to go to mobile website (without redirect script).

I'm not trying to get off topic, I just think these things are good things to consider when evaluating a mobile website builder, or if you are doing the work yourself, or outsourcing it. I'd be interesting in knowing if anyone has any ideas about a good mobile website builder that has these type of features, or maybe some good resources for the scripts as mentioned.

  WillR - OK thanks. Yes, a lot of the ones I've seen, and some of the big ones, just do the redirect one way and don't allow the option to go back. I've also seen this in a lot of mobile website templates. Thanks for the wordpress suggestion - I'd also love to know of a good script, maybe something up to date, that has this type of functionality, a script that can be used on standard websites (enter code into each page, etc).

I have been using Mobile Marketing XT and I really do like it. But,, It's expensive. Almost $400. It's the simple drag and drop. The only thing I don't like is that they don't let you host elsewhere. But, they do offer a lot of stuff to go with it. They have a video that shows all about it.

Lots of great self-hosted options being shared here - Wordpress themes, the two WSOs, jQuery mobile and responsive design templates.

For the hosted equivalent you should checkout Googles "hot to go mo" resource, which has all of the best links.

I can't link directly (post count) but if you search howtogomo and then click "Build Your Site" you should see them all.

Duada has been mentioned a few times already, but there are a few other good ones in there.

I have been using a service that allows you to roll your own theme over at ThemeRoller | jQuery Mobile and import it. End up with some pretty cool looking sites after you get use to it.

Without any dough I suggest something that is using JqueryMobile Framework for maximum compatibility.

If you can find yourself a software that is based on JqueryMobile test it and see if it's doing what you want. Be careful before you choose a framework because the mobile market is really segmented.

You need something that will work on all mobile devices without having to do all the tests yourself...Who get access to all mobile devices? ;-)

jQuery Mobile is even fun to play with.

I have shopped on ebay, craigs list and backpage for phones. Picked up iPhone 3 with cracked screen, couple of Android and one blackberry. Least I can get an idea of how designs look like. Little smart shopping and little time, got a whole $120 invested.

I just use the phones on WiFi to test my new ideas.

The over all best route is to own WillR's PHP version of mobile site builder and learn jQuery. Between the two you can build what is needed.

Management-Ware Webelement that was mentioned at #179 has potential, (although I believe the poster was a Troll - 6 posts, 3 of which recommend Management-Ware products). I say potential because although it is on sale I don't believe it should be yet. It's desktop software (the trial version crashed my PC so I had to use it on a laptop) but appears to tick most of the boxes and (when working) is fairly functional.

Why do I think it shouldn't be on sale yet? Well, apparently they release bug fix updates every 2 weeks (which sounds like a beta to me), there is no documentation and some of the internal help instructions don't make sense. Apart from that the support staff are rude, don't speak great English and don't respond when you challenge what they say.

Worth keeping an eye on as if they ever get it to a commercial standard.

Terry, you're obviously an expert on mobile website builders. If you get a chance to try this out I'd be interested in your opinion...

Check out myMobi Admin here in the WSO section. Hands down the easiest and best mobile site builder on the net. No fussing with PHP code as it has a built-in editor with complete admin area. You host it and can export the finished mobile sites. Jon (the creator) is one of the nicest and helpful person around here...

Not a total wash as I have PLR to it and all the source code, but far as the best mobile builder that tops any out there I still say myMobi Admin.

I use three systems currently for 99% of my clients. EMB, myMobi Admin and PHP templates from Squeeze Mobi. They all have their uses in my business. If a client insist on having admin area to do their own updates, EMB is what I use.

Far as EMB goes, hope to hire a coder to clean up the rough edges in a few months. Works but needs some coding cleanup. Since all the hard work was done, saved me some bucks by buying PLR to EMB

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a mobile website builder which:
- can create an unlimited number of websites and pages.
- does not have monthly fees per website/number of pages.
- does not mention your company name.
- is available in multiple languages or at least flexibility in terms of menu text buttons being editable.
- contains an admin tool which my customers can use as well to update their website.

I've already found a few tools out there fitting these requirements but I'm looking for an alternative as well. Any ideas out there?

I am using WillR's templates currently, I made some modifications to stand out a bit but they are a great starting point and his videos/guides are great. I made 5-10 demo sites on subdomains which I demo on pages on my portfolio site using his plugins he created.

Now my challenge is finding clients, going to start working on leads today and start cold walkins and calls/emails/mailings next week.
