The QR Code can deliver a link, that when clicked, goes to a mobile web opt in form

Karen, Yes, you can create an SMS QR code. You can use a free online generator such as this one: ZXing QR Code Generator 1. In the drop down 'Contents' box select the 'SMS' option. 2. In the 'Phone Number' box you will enter the number people need to send the SMS to. 3. In the 'Message' box you will enter the word or phrase people need to text to that number. 4. Click the 'Generate' button. Anyone who now scans that QR code will get an sms message open on their phone with the correct phone number and word already entered so all they have to do is press the send button and they will join your list. Simple. |

I have an Android so I'm not sure but I've read that iPhone users will only have the number already entered when scanning the QR Code, that they have to do put in the message. Is that true?

-- If you are on a Mac and you are looking for robust QR code creator that will output vector based QR Codes like these for print, you may want to try QREncoder Pro. I think its only $2 Mac App Store - QREncoderPro

Something else you could do is have the QR code go to a mobile landing page where you put in a call to action. Just an idea. Sean

Hi Karen Yes a qr code will work with sms. A neat little facility I employ for some of my clients is to embed a number that opts them in straight away to the client list. What's even better is that the subscriber not only gets the optin welcome text BUT when they ring the number a 'real person' (recording of course) welcomes them to the list. So yes QR code + SMS + Voice - winning combination |
