Does it carry proper details to turn our blogs to mobile friendly blog? I have seen many e-Books and ready many of them but always failed to understand things without proper guidelines!

Depending on your reason to develop a mobi friendly version will depend on your choice of platform.

If its just a mobi friendly version then check out responsive design
Genesis from studio press has a killer responsive design template that responds to the various mobile devices in use today.

or go for a mobi specific site for mobile viewers

if you always think ‘ How will my customers benefit from this’ then your mobi presence will be worth it - otherwise it could be a whole pointless exercise.


Let me tell you a story......

Only this morning, I was driving to my office and I asked my wife to check my bank account for me.

I gave her my phone, and told her to fire up my nifty banking app.

And, after a frustrating 5 minutes, she managed to log in and find out the answer.

The app was slow, and the navigation was unclear.

She quickly became pretty agitated and lost her temper.

“What is the point of this pointless app- why don’t we just go to their website instead”

Good point I thought ...

I bank with one of the biggest banks in the UK - they are one of the most profitable in the country and have millions that they could invest to deliver a fantastic app that considers both userbility and value add.

Analyzing it, there is not one single benefit from using their app as opposed to logging in via the web browser.

Not only that, I found it actually quicker to go to their website and log in that way to retrieve the information I needed.

And to top it off - the most obvious call to action was totally pointless.
How many other people are simply creating mobile apps or sites because ‘their competitor does’ without actually using it to give their customers an actual advantage?

I second this for wordpress. Some of the WP plugins are super easy to use but if you're looking for a bit more why not create a simple HTML version of your site? A little HTML mixed with some CSS and you have a killer mobile site! :)
