A Question About This Setup
 

I came across this company today when researching a competitor's site in our local area for a mobile website design business. The company behind the local company I am referring to is motiplypartners . com

Reading through their offering - it looks like a good thing. However, Will and Quentin (and others) have pointed out that it is not good to be dependent on third party services when designing mobile websites for clients.

However, this set-up looks pretty enticing at first glance. I would like to know what others think of this set-up. Is it a good thing to get into. If not, why not?

Invest in your own knowledge instead of paying someone else $100 per month.

I highly recommend Quentin or Will's WSOs.

Kiril: I agree. The person who told me about this program has already purchased products from both Quentin and Will. What he is trying to do is analyze what the competitor is offering. And I suppose, if it is a good thing, he is interested in offering it as well.

I'm interested, too, in what this company is offering because it looks darn good when you read through the information at first glance.

What I need to know, and what was the point of my original question is basically what to think of this set-up - the pros, cons and whatever else might be worth knowing. I'm not looking for referrals to other programs or systems.

The reason I am asking about these various programs is because I want to familiarize myself with what other options are out there for creating mobile sites. I'm not actually creating mobile sites myself, but am quite interested in the process. I'm also working with a good friend who is learning the ropes and getting in to the mobile web design business. So when he asks me about these things, I come here and ask others about them. They all look good to me, but I know they're not. I guess, what I'm looking for, is why my friend's business approach is better, or superior to what these 'system sites' - as I call them. And the site I mentioned above looks quite attractive for many reasons, at least to me it does. And I don't have the expertise to discern what's good or not so good about it.

Edited to add: As I further research this company, I think what I am really trying to learn is the difference between mobile sites and native apps and/or how they are related. And to decide if a company who specializes in building mobile websites also needs to get in to the mobile apps business. Since I know more about websites than I do about apps, I'm trying to pull some of these things together, so I'm asking lots of questions. Not that I'm even sure what questions I should be asking at this point in time, but I'm getting there, one question at a time.

Well that's a really nice website there, and at least your taking action and learning! The best way is to see if it will work for you, why not use multiple places to host your sites/apps - just a thought

Me too agree with Will And Quentin. You must not depend on others for design your website. you have believe in yourself.

I second or third that you shouldn't depend on others. No matter what package you buy out there you can make an attractive site with simple HTML and CSS. I was using Duda to make my sites (which is a great service) but came up with some of my own templates and now it's even easier to sell these. Plus I own them 100%. :)

Even if you decide to go with this (or another) service, I highly recommend learning how to create your own. YOU have FULL control over EVERY aspect of it. You don't have to depend on someone else being there.
