Free professional books online about building mobile websites! Bizarrely great resource!

Today I decided to see what my local library had among it's shelves regarding mobile website building. I was just curious.

So I went to the card catalogue here and searched for "Mobile website building" or some such.

I assumed that I would see a book or two, probably outdated, about how to build mobile websites but was I ever in for a pleasant surprise!

Apparently my library has started a subscription for itself to the infamous Safari books online such that I have complete access, and I mean complete access to the latest and greatest books on how to build mobile websites!!

Amazing.

Better than probably most WSO's here on how to do such a thing (at least with respect to how to build them if not how to market them). All for free. Totally free.

A great find I wanted to share with you all. Check out your local libraries. Especially university libraries (which is where I am).

If you have to be a student to gain such access here is another tip. Many universities have special programs for persons over 50 or for various other classes of individuals that oftentimes allow them to get a real university ID card for a pittance.

I have one myself. It entitles me to just about every single resource that students have without my having to take a single solitary class. It's actually a program that enables me to take classes at a discount but where I don't have to sign up for any classes at all but as part of this program I am entitled to a full fledged student ID card with most all student privaleges!

So almost unrestricted access to university resources including the library, databases, multi-media center, you name it.

Check it out. Safari is a great resource but free is even better! LOL

Yeah...what's really ironic is that I go to the Library here at the University I frequent every day if I can and sit on my laptop doing all kinds of things; looking up things, searching for this or that, reading this or that, going on forums to ask about this or that...when all along, all around me in countless bookshelves are hundreds of thousands (literally) of books.

Written by authors who are absolutely competent in their areas of expertise and who spent a lot of sweat and time writing out their expertise into the pages of said books.

The number of hours, the amount of effort, and the accumulation of knowledge represented by all these books is mind boggling.

I need to get off my laptop once in a while, look up, and around me to take advantage of the incredible resource all around me here.

I have been reading my first Safari book since posting and it's a good one! About building mobile websites.

About the difference between a mobile web browser application and a native device application and why building one or the other is better.
