Hi I am presenting at two seminars to local businesses one day after the other and will be talking mainyl about mobile marketing. I have most the presentation sorted just need to practice going through it many times, anyway I really want some fun and effective interactive ways to wow the attendees and make them realise what mobile could achieve for their businesses , I will have a QR code on the entrance linking to a discount coupon good for the length of the exhibition, but during the presentation i want to say to them text XYZ to shortcode 12345 and have them recieve or access something thats gonna have instant credibility and wow factor, get the place buzzing for a few minutes as they access it and leave them realising theyre leaving £££££ on the table by not having a mobile presence. This forum is one of the best places for such ideas so fire away anything is great as it can lead to someone else tweaking it to something amazing. |

Besides showing them mobile Stats/social media stats I would do several QR code applications SMS, Facebook etc I have a restaurant that made 30 second videos of the chef showing and describing each dish. They are printing new menus that have QR codes next to the items that take them to the video. That always gets a big wow reaction. Show them as many real life examples as you can so they can visualize using it for their business. Depending on your sms platform, some have appointment reminders - great for salons dr's or restaurants can use them as reservation reminders also. If you know who will be attending try to target their industry with examples. Good Luck and knock em dead! Basil |

Did you do the videos of the chef menu descriptions or did the restaurant do them? | |

Hey I just thought of something that would be cool. I use Avid for my mobile marketing and they have a text2win function. In the beginning you could tell everyone that you're giving away your service to 1 lucky winner and they need to "Text MJBGiveaway to 40404." Then set the giveaway to end at the end of the conference. The winner will get the text and all the losers will get a "you didnt win" text. This would be super fun for all plus you can show them an example of how mobile marketing can be used. Make sure to point out the importance of the losers text. If they ran a campaign like this they might want to say, "Sorry you lost but the first 5 people to come in and show this messages gets a free drink." |

Are you enclosing the videos in the pages or you just insert a link to youtube? I'm making a site for an architect (both normal version and a mobi version) and I might consider inserting a video of her. I think people might feel more involved and connected if they can see the real people behind a business, so this idea could be used for everything! Not only to show the products as in the case of the dishes/wines but also the owners or the staff! Lovely idea!!! Like a sort of mini TV ad so that you can promote yourself and your business. I can imagine a tv commercial of a car repair, of a wedding dresses maker, of an icecream shop, etc.......... |

Good responses thanks, will consider how I can use them, without detracting from them paying attention to me and what Im saying of course, unless that is theyre hitting the pay now button ,then they can ignore me all they want ;-) As an addendum to the restaurant video QR code idea, its an ideal opportunity for the restaurant to upsell the clients pre dinner drinks whilst they watch the videos and determine what theyre going to eat at their own leisure (while spending money they werent maybe planning to spend ;-) ) |

Here's a "Generic" Mobile Promo Video you could put on your laptop. Just clip the last page and replace with yours. Also....if there's any Restaurant Owners in the room here's something I've set up; 1) Create a Mobile Website for restaurant; a) If restaurant doesn't have a website....use WillR's or Quentin Browns program b) If restaurant has a website...use "DudaMobile" to create a Mobile Version in 5 minutes NOTE: As a "WOWer"....before the meeting....take a website from one of the attendees. Go to "www.DudaMobile.com"....enter website URL into "Sample" area....create a Mobile site. Put on your laptop and show audience what the Sample Mobile Site looks like. (Do NOT let the website owner of the site you use as a Sample KNOW that you're using his site as a Demo. It will WOW him. Actually, you could create a few mobile sites for attendees...without their knowledge. When they SEE....THEIR Mobile Site....on YOUR Laptop....you will BLOW THEM AWAY! (Back to Restaurant Demo) 2) Make up a "Table Tent Card" (4 by 6 card that sits on every table, with "Scan Here for Special Offer") Print QR Code. You could also, place URL of the Mobile Site under the QR Code. I've seen QR Codes on "Drink Coasters" in Bars....on "Coffee Sleeves" that go around coffee cups to protect your fingers (Independents WILL let you provide them with ALL the "Free Coffee Sleeves" you want. Starbucks won't. I tried) Another program I helped a buddy with; Set up a SMS (Text) program where consumers can Text to receive a Special Discount Coupon. Example: Post a Sign on or near the Cash Register of an Auto Repair Shop that says: "For a FREE OIL CHANGE....TEXT FREE OIL CHANGE to 555-123-1234" Now....one thing about a repair shop offering "FREE Oil Changes"; An Auto Mechanic can ALWAYS find something that needs "work"....plus....you capture each customer's Cell # so you can Text Special Deals to "Entice" customers to come in. Best of Success with your meetings. Don Alm |
