I'm sorry....here lately, I see MANY folks trying to "Make Moola" these days.....using "Mobile Stuff" HOWEVER.... I've been "around the horn" (that's an old Saying for, "US "older sales guys...who've ben dere n' done dat) and... today (I have some time) ......I'd like to relate a "Simple' concept in, what I call, "MOTIVATIONAL MARKETING!"

Now....the term, "MOTIVATIONAL MARKETING" may have been used or copyrighted by others....but....it's been the basis of my MANY years in Sales & Marketing.

When I look at a "Potential Customer Base" for any of the "Promotional Programs" I've done.... I'm "thinking" about creating from scratch.....I start with...."WHY"....would a business owner WANT to give, little ol' ME.... Money?

And....when I put my program together (I've done many in my 30 yrs) and go out to Sell it.....Is it my "Good Looks" (I used to be handsome when I was in my 20's and LESS that 200lbs)....my "OverWhelming Personaility" (I'm pretty assertive giving Presentations)....my "Deep Voice" (I'm a DEEEEEP Baso-Profundo)....the "Size of my Body" (I'm 6'2 & 270)....HECK NO!

The reason why I've been SUPER (excuse my self-inflationism) SUCCESSFUL over the past 30 yrs.....in my Sales Career..... is because...."I HAVE THE ABILITY TO CONVINCE BUSINESS OWNERS THAT.... I.... CAN....HELP THEM......MAKE MORE MONEY THAN....WHAT I AM CHARGING, TO BE A PART OF MY PROGRAM....whatever it is!

Thus....this brings me to WHY I chose to enter this Thread here...today.

Two Reasons;
1) To acknowledge the "Happiness" I have in my heart from hearing about the SUCCESSES that 6 of my "Students" have done....in ONE Month.....with a Simple Idea (and my tutoring).... that has helped them earn enough money to:
a) Give them HOPE...for the future (They WERE on UN-Employment and about ready to LOSE their homes)
(I talked with all of them this morn and WHALA....WHAMMO...BANGO....I AM JAZZED (Excuse my elation) as to what they have done in ONE Month with a Simple Idea)

2) How Easy it is to Make Money when....if you will THINK ABOUT.... WHAT....do people....WANT!.... and...if YOU can give them WHAT.... they WANT....you can Succeed!

As an example; PIZZA:
Why...do consumers LOVE...Pizza?
Well...basically it "Tastes Good"... and...it's INSTANT and relatively cheap.

So....WHAT....do Pizza Shop Owners...WANT!
Answer: To Sell More Pizzas

Now....move your mind over and place your body into the body of someone entering one of your local Motels.
a) They are NOT carrying "food" with them
b) They probably have a "Mobile Phone" with them
c) They have "money" to buy food

Now....if YOU were in THAT ROOM....HUNGRY (you had just driven a few hundred miles) You see a Card that says; "SCAN HERE to have a PIZZA...Delivered to your room!"

Would YOU...take your Phone and SCAN the Code?....and up on the Screen (IN your hand)....you see Pictures of delicious.... FOOD....and a Button that says; "Tap to Order!".

WOULD YOU....HIT THAT BUTTON?

You Betcha you would!

And...so have hundreds of other "Travelers" who've entered one of our Motel rooms.

So....my point here is;

1) Find out WHAT people .....WANT!
2) Find a way to....GIVE IT TO THEM!

Pick a niche and take action...and make it happen....great idea.

Interested to know do you concentrate just on Pizza shops to advertise in motels and if so what sort of price point do you charge them.

Would other delivery services, such as Chinese, Thai, Indian etc work or does pizza rule the roost.

Maybe have a postcard in the room with 4 or 5 options maybe or better to have just the 1 option for people to view and order.

Interested and following. Mobile space will be tackled a day at a time.

Great concept and easy to implement, but the major hiccup here is folks understanding "qr codes". I am still shocked by this, but not as many people as we think know how to use these things or even how to scan them.

Perhaps offer an "app" as a suggestion on the sign... ya know, the whole "do this, do that" walking them through the process - so this way they can educate others and this mobile stuff will be much easier.

i realy need someone to explain to me this:

why do you think that 4-5 steps process like 1.read a flyer,2.scan the code (with an application that you need to download) 3.enter to the pizza shop website 4.call them to order is more simple then a simple call to the pizza ( from the tel number on the flyer) and order .

i simply can't see the imediate benifit in having a mobile site unless we are talking about people looking for it in the street and even then they will get to the pizza shop only if they are ranked in first places in google when you searched for pizzas. so actually it is come down again to SEO and ranking your site higher in the search results.

Pizza rules, but Chinese comes in second as the next best chioce.

Yes, you could try the idea with both a pizza shop and a chinese take-out place by having one advertised one each side of your postcard.

With any idea you have to test and see what your results are and tweek it as needed.

Yes....there are also Phone Books in each room where guests can find EVERY Pizza Spot in the local area!

They DON'T have to "Download an App"! Most phones have what is called a "Browser" where they can just enter in the URL (that's an Internet Address of a Mobile website) And....the Mobile Site that comes up on THEIR Phone....provides a FULL MENU and....FULL COLOR PICTURES of some of the Food Choices.

We are NOW...fully INTO the "Electronic-Mobile Age" where....QR Codes and Mobile Websites are....EXCITING!

Then...when the Mobile Site comes up on their phone screen and they see a Button that says, "Tap To Call!"....WOW! It REALLY....gives folks a "Buzz In Da Brain!" (Ya mean I don't havta DIAL anymore! Well, good golly Miss Molly! Who woulda thunk dey could do dat! WHAT will dey think of next!)

These are Travelers and Tourists...entering a building to rent a room to stay in for the evening! They DON'T have food with them! They're HUNGRY and looking for something to eat!

These are NOT "people wandering the street"....and...this has absolutely NOTHING TO DO with "Google Ranking"....SEO or "Search Results"!

There is NO "Searching for Pizzas"! When the Mobile Site comes up on their Mobile Device....there is ONLY ONE!....the Pizza Joint that is PAYING to be on Phones of Motel Guests!

Some people entering a Motel Room....may have a LapTop with them! MOST ALL will have some kind of Hand-Held Mobile Device! And....if you doubt they don't....go talk to a few General Mgrs of local motels and ask them, "What Percentage of your Guests carry Mobile Phones with them?"

If they don't give a 1-word answer...."ALL!!!"....go to another Hotel/Motel, this one does NOT have the consumers we are trying to reach!

As Don says, what would the average commercial traveller rather do -

1.Find a thick telephone book with which they are not familiar.
2.Find a pizza place in that book
3.Check if the pizza place is local (remember they don't know the area)
4.Call the pizza place and ask what pizzas they have available and what are the prices
5.Order the pizza

OR...

1.Scan a code
2.Choose a picture
3.Press a button
