Can anyone share how they bill for a mobile website? I was thinking an invoice would due. But, I've been asked to send over a contract. Is this really necessary? Any suggestions how to put a contract together?

We normally do a quote that contains all the information the customer needs and then once approved they send us a purchase order and we convert the quote to an invoice.

This is the way business is normally done.

We do this for pretty well all our work and only do a full blown contract if the amount is over $1000

Any standard service business will want to have some sort of agreement with their customers. The word contract is probably a little bit of overkill. You just need a simple user agreements that outlines your obligations and also what your customers i receiving for their money.

It doesn't need to be overly complicated.
