According to a new Study from Pew Internet & American Life Project,, we have crossed the Threshold and there are now more smartphone Users in the US than their are Basic/Feature Cellphone Users. "The study was conducted among a sample of 2,253 adults, ages 18 and older. Nearly half (46%) of U.S. adults use smartphones as of February 2012, up 11% from May 2011. Meanwhile, two in five adults (41%) own a basic mobile phone, making smartphone owners the most predominant of the two." Keep in mind that the disparity between the above numbers and "100%" is that a small percentage of the adult population does not have a cellphone, mostly the very elderly. The numbers may be even more off (In smartphone Favor) when taking into consideration Teens between the age of 13 and 17 that predominantly make use of smartphones. This presents a huge opportunity for Mobile Marketers and an added Sales tool to reference when dealing with potential clients! |
