I'm a bit confused as to what exactly individuals are offering their clients in terms of SMS marketing?

For instance, if I was to approach a restaurant, what exactly are some example services one would offer?

And am I correct in stating that OpenVBX should be given as a management/reporting tool to clients?

Excuse my lack of knowledge in this, as I did some reading on a few WSO's but am not exactly grasping the topic as a whole.
