Compelling Mobile Offer

Been testing sms/mobile campaigns for my products.

135 characters of text including spaces is allowed for each campaign. I've been testing different offers utilizing a link and phone number.

Do consumers typically respond to text messages? I have been having a hard time tracking stats from mobile campaigns.

I think that's going to depend on what youre selling and the relationship you have with your list. If they didn't opt in the likelihood of them buying goes down dramatically.

Text messages are definitely read...I think it's the content of the text message that matters...is it a mobile coupon or a request to call?

Hey blinkdo,

craigslistleedz is definitely correct. The key issue is "Relationship". The purpose of building you list is to improve your relationship with your clients. It's all strategic but starts from your first point of contact with them. Plus if your list is not an opt-in list you won't see any results.

People do look at text messages at a rate of 97% but the key word is "LOOK". If there's nothing engaging or familiar their eyes will move away and not give it any thought.

If you give us some more detail we can probably help you identify the problem and give you some ideas on how to solve it.

I may be reading something totally different from what you're writing. To me it seems that you are thinking to text without an opt-in in hopes of getting the consumer to opt-in from your text. If that's correct, then no, you'll not get many responses. However, just as the others have already stated, if the consumer opedt-in from and advertisement, sign, friend referral, was told about the "deals" by an employee of a business, etc., then yes, the will react to the text message because they actually "said" they want to receive it when they opted-in.

I am sending each campaign to an opt in list based on the consumers lifestyle interests. We actually include additional demographic details to ensure we are sending to the right people.

The actual mobile campaigns are being sent from our vendor. They also offer shortcode and keyword sms campaigns, however, a bit more expensive but maybe more effective.

Something definitely worth testing right?

Thanks,
Dewitt
