SMS Marketing

Hey Folks,

I have a B2C website and send a lot of emails out to clients who are "on the move".

I really want to send them an SMS too - and was wondering if you know of any SMS solutions.

Specifically, whenever my site sends out an email, I also want an SMS sent out too.

Also, is it possible to set up a web page so that a different page is seen if they look at it from a smart phone?

Thanks!

Richard

I have a friend that works for the largest text marketing company in the country. If you want I can have him call you, or I can pm you his info.

And his rates are really reasonable.

Richard you didn't say where you were located. SMS options are country dependant at the moment.

As far as making your website mobile, there are lots of options there. You can create a m. subdomain of you site, including mobile device detection to aumatically redirect.

You can use a "responsive" template which adjusts based on the size of the browser, eliminating the need for two sites. But you have to be careful with graphics, etc that will load anyway no matter if on a mobile device or desktop. (I chose this option until I finish learning HTML5/CSS3)

HTML5/CSS3 with 3 CSS files that auto detect device size to chose which CSS to load which will allow you to choose what is loaded on a mobile device.

I am still working on my site Mobile Mavericks SMS Text Message Marketing but am technically open for business now. And holding a Grand Opening Special where you can win a free month of service! Just text MM to 71441. Drawing held April 15th, 2012.

Thanks for the great info guys. I'm US based, and my market is also in the US. Nana - you say that you are open for business - are you saying that you are available for subcontracting work to do this? Please PM me your email so that we can discuss further.

Thanks,

Rich

Re: SMS Marketing

How big is your list / how many emails do you send and how often?
How do you send the emails? Through your email client / ISP, website SMTP or autoresponder service?
PM me if you don't want this info public but it is essential to determine best solution.

This is not a sure bet marketing but sometimes it really works. I receive SMS messages from establishments about their on going sale and I just find myself in their stores buying things i don't need at the moment haha

Wow, Richard, great idea to send out an SMS to really reach out to your customers through a different mode of communication. I would advise to find an API platform of a company that leverages these channels for you. So that you can not only send an email, but with the same platform, you can send out an SMS. You should really not try to look for different platforms, it may be irritating when you have to log into two different accounts. Good luck Richard!
