$50 SMS Service one time payment?? Opinions wanted
Share on:

Extensions - SMS Marketing

Apparently they have software for $50 instead of paying a per sms service

Anyone have opinions or have used this as opposed to Lime,Avid, txt180, etc.

Thanks

I can barely even understand the description, I'll pass. Maybe it's just a mobile front end to that twitter sms thing people were talking about before. Either way I wouldn't trust putting a business on that at all.

Since it mentions "POP3" it is pretty clear that it is sending via SMTP, since POP3 is an email Protocol.

That means no shortcode, you can only send outgoing and cannot receive, no opt in functionality.

Basically worthless!

I agree it does look like it's using SMTP but I don't agree with "That means no shortcode, you can only send outgoing and cannot receive, no opt in functionality"..Even if it's done thru SMTP you can still do a opt in function.

And you will be miserable with a barely compliant, rickety, slapped-together, hackable mess.

If you want into the SMS business, and you will really commit to making it a success, go to a top-rated aggregator and get a reseller or white label program. Do whatever ever it takes to raise the investment capital. Sell that second car, build a cut-rate website for that cheap relative who you said "no" to, have a bake sale, mow some lawns. It doesn't cost all that much to start, and it really is worth it.

That assessment was based on info from their particular website...

Buy something worthwhile. There are a lot of great services out there that are affordable. Try Trumpia. I use there white label service and it's the best in the business

Pat, thank you for the compliment.

As mentioned by HypeText, this is clearly via SMTP which is unreliable and never meant for mass text messaging.
