I don't know anything about mobile marketing, so I am puzzled by something that happened to me last night.

I called (on my cell phone) the local chinese restaurant only to find out they did not deliver.

After I ended the call and voila! Up pops some kind of window (not messaging) with the name of Mazzio's on it.

Huh? What's up with that?

Thanks for your help.

    What's Mazzios?

I would say you pressed something with your face when on the phone.

Sorry about that. Mazzio's is a pizza place in the USA. And no, I didn't press anything by accident. Something popped up on my cell phone, kinda like a "window" on a computer. I don't know how else to describe it.

That sounds weird. Maybe you have an app installed that was sending a push notification. I don't think anything would have been triggered by the phone call if that's what you are getting at.

It was very weird. The only thing I can think of is that maybe there is some kind of app that the person who answered the phone at the chinese restaurant was using (probably some way to make money on the side?) and forwarded Mazzio's as a suggestion. But since I know nothing a mobile marketing, I was wondering if anyone had heard of this.

Verizon. No prepaid plan, just regular contract. Thanks for helping!

I guess this is a mystery for now. I will pay more attention if it happens again. I was so surprised by it I simply closed it out.

Would it be too far fetched to call Mazzio's to find out if they currently have or running a text or mobile marketing campaign?

Sometimes the best source is the company itself.

I had something oddly similar happen once when my then 11 yr.old signed up for many free contest online. I started to get quite a few phone calls to my home phone. When I asked the company how they'd gottened my number they told me how surprisingly. They honored my request to be removed instantly.
