SMS pricing for your clients?
Share on:

What sort of SMS pricing packages are you guys offering to your clients? Do you offer a starter package and then bump them up to higher ones after they have built a big database optins? Do you do offer a base package such as $150-$200 a month which includes like 1000 text messages (which would equate to doing 4 SMS blasts with up to 250 subs) or do offer much lower packages and then do overcharge for additional messages?

Any feedback?

What exactly is being offered for 200 bucks a Month?

By subs are you referring to sub-keywords?

That REALLY isnt a good idea. People get too easily confused about spaces between words or having to insert special characters between words.

We have a variety of plans and also create custom plans based upon the unique needs of the client.

Offering mini plans is a waste as there is virtually no money to be made on them.

We would rather give them their first month at no extra charge and build it in to the Set Up/Implementation Fee on the front end and then pick up billing for whatever plan they are on going in to the second month.

I believe he means sub as in subscribers. $200/month for 1,000 messages (sending it 4 times a month with 250 subscribers = 1,000 messages)

Charging for Messages...and charging for Subscribers?

I have seen pricing based on one or the other but not on both.

Placing limits on Subscribers can lead to Clients keeping their list size smaller to save money on subscription fees.

Keep in mind the effectiveness of Marketing with SMS is dependant upon building a significant numbet of subscribers

I think he's asking how much we charge for the number of messages we can send out. My provider has a different business model so our prices are set by HQ. Other people here have more flexibility on what they can offer and charge.

These are the packages I sell:
$15/mo = 1 Keyword, Unlimited Auto-Respond (up to 160 characters). May not blast out messages with this package.

$99/mo = 2 Keywords, 3000 messages
$250/mo = 5 Keywords, 10,000 messages
$1500/mo = 5 Keywords, Unlimited Messages.

You can add the $15 package to any of the higher priced packages if you really want to maximize messages going out.

For example for $115/mo (the first two packages combined) my clients get 3 Keywords, 3000 messages with one of those keywords having unlimited auto-response. So a list of 500 subscribers can be blasted 6 times per month.

How is it now that i have seen 2 companies offer unlimited messaging with no catch? If you have your own short code and your own aggregator and platform, do you still pay for messages??

Hi

Sell them your 'consultancy' skills - give them the texts at almost cost price!

Most of my clients want 'hand holding' - many of them have just got smartphones and are still figuring out how to use them.

By selling them the 'consultancy' aspect my normal charge out is at least £120 + I sell them the texts as priced packages ie £10 for 250 texts to start with (BTW most texts here are around the 6c figure)!

I think trying to sell to them on either or a subscriber or text message base is missing the point. Too many choices will 'scare them'.

Once you come across as the 'expert' then it's much easier to keep them!

Hope this helps.

I say, get paid for your expertise not the texts- package it together.

So:

We'll set up a mobile marketing campaign for you and we will waive our normal £200 set up fee, and for just £175 p/m we manage your campaign, work with you on building your subscriber base-We'll send your messages for you, and we'll throw in upto 1000 text messages per month for no extra charge! Every month I will even have a telephone consultation at no extra charge to make sure you'll really getting the most from your campaign, and maximizing your return on investment!'

Done! And then you've got pretty passive monthly income- auto subscribe into mobile marketing auto responder- outsource the sending of messages if you so desire.... then it's 1 hour per month, per client you will spend!

If in UK & Ireland getting money from clients isn't as easy. I provide a texting service if somone signs up with me for a mobile site and gradually introduce other things like Place listing optimisation and yourtube marketing

Someone give me ideas for a school which already has a list of 1200. Unfortunately they had already found I use Twilio and are aware of price per text.

No need for list building here, this is not promotion, but informational texts.

I'm thinking set-up fee, consultancy, possible list management, and price per month based a 1k,2k, 3k texts.

I can help you if you give me the name of the school and your contact's phone number. In fact, just the name and location of the school will do. But don't post it here. Send it to me in a PM:-)
