Here are some newly released survey results of an in-depth study of small business and their use (or lack of use) of mobile websites. It covers such things as whether or not they're seeing increased business as a result of using mobile websites; their attitudes about investing in a mobile website or not; and very important, the reasons they WOULD invest in a mobile website (show your prospects how you can deliver on these points, and you should see increased sales without a doubt!) Be sure to check out their powerpoint presentation which really goes into detail on the survey results (link is on the right hand side of the page). You are very welcome :-) In my area, along the Gulf coast of Florida, there are very few businesses who 'get it' yet, when it comes to mobile websites. Still, I notice more and more downtown stores are starting to post QR signs in their front windows, so the awareness is growing, albeit slowly. There was a time when a local business couldn't imagine why they would ever need to have website; now they know they must have one. I think we'll go through that same realization curve regarding mobile sites over the coming months and year or two. |

Some time back on one of the forums here I read an idea similar to this... How about getting a open/closed door sign, or print up flyers with an image of the sign and your info, put a qr code on the sign image that leads to a video explaining how their customers could be watching a video of THEM talking to THEIR potential customers about the benefits of THEIR business. Everything they would want their customer to know about their business. Offer to create the video, host it, get the sign for them, and oh yeah......... let them know you can create a mobile website for their business too!! Lots of ways to get creative!! | |

@moneylab "there are very few businesses who 'get it' yet" You hit the nail on the head. We as mobile marketers are really pioneers in the mobile world as we are standing on the brink of it exploding all over in North America. These are very exciting times to be working in mobile and I for one, am very excited to see how the mobile industry continues to grow and evolve. They may not "get it" yet....But they will soon. |
