Hey Red, search the WSO forum and you'll find some great offerings from WillR, Quentin and Kevin Koop that are all excellent templates and can give you a great head start. If you're not experienced with hosting and editing the templates (it's not really that difficult and they all provide excellent instruction on how to change things) you may want to consider a hosted sitebuilder like DudaMobile. I never thought I'd be a fan of theirs, but they keep adding nice features to their system and for about $6 a month as a reseller, it's not a bad deal if you can charge someone a small monthly hosting fee + a design fee, or just charge a larger monthly fee. HTH, Steve |

I love Quentin's mobile course. Great content! I know there are a lot of hosted solutions that look great, I am just always leery of using a hosted solution in the event they close up shop and you have a ton of customers there, you end up scrambling to recreate and host everything. Chances are that won't happen with most hosted solutions, but (with the way my luck works) I would rather not have to worry about it and just have control of the entire mobile site myself. |

Definitely a valid concern. Make sure when doing your homework that, when choosing a hosted solution, you have the ability to export/download the site you've built. More often than not, they should offer that option - possibly for a fee.

Here's WillR's excellent My Mobile Business package (that he's too modest to link to). --> WillR's EXCELLENT Mobile Templates WSO which I have bought and can personally vouch for. With regards to reliable hosting I have been using Total Choice Hosting which is a full feature hosting provider with a 99.9% uptime guarantee. I've been using them since 2002 and can vouch for that also. You're right, it's important that if you're going to host your client's mobile sites that they remain "up". |

Hello...I'm new to this forum, although I've read posts from time to time. Earlier this month I came across a post that was all about Quentin's script and bought it. It has been a great tool to do my own mobile site. I'm not an "internet marketer" except to the extent that I have to market my services as a lawyer. So a big thank you to Quentin, his script and wonderful video tutorials! Vivian |

One of my sites is already up and running but I want a mobile phone version of the site. So many visitors are on smart phones so I would like a phone friendly version that looks similar. Are there any warriors that can assist with this? What would you suggest?

If you want the same mobile version as your desktop site, then building a site with a Wordpress Responsive Theme Framework will give you this. You only then need then to build one site that covers both mobile/desktop with responsive web design this will give you what you want.

On my site I just installed a wordpress plugin and it detects if it is a mobile site and displays the mobile site for a mobile user. Seems by far the easiest way to go.

it maybe the easier way to go but i really haven't come across any mobile wordpress plugins that really produce a really good end user experience, thats valid, fast and also intuitive for the designer/developer to use... be interested to hear what you used and possibly take a look at your site... what type of site is it - is it more of a blog or setup for a brick and mortar business? does it have click/tap to call features etc?

however had it been more of a brick and mortar business it lacks a lot of essential items that visitors can get quick access to things like the companies opening hours, directions, telephone number, etc out of the box wptouch doesn't provide those things...

another thing to think about with regards to responsive designs - not all clients will want their website completely rebuilt just so it is responsive! |
