One of my clients has a limited customer base. Considering the fact that on average his customers clean carpets twice or once a year I thought doing contest promotion would be a good start. Am I heading in the right direction? What are your suggestions/methods to build list fast with SMS for the client who doesn't have many customers yet. |

Steam cleaners are great clients for sms marketing. Start your client off with helping them initially build their list by offering a free one room carpet steam cleaning.(this will allow your client to get in to the homes of the winner possibly up sell the job as well) But offer a free one room steam cleaning will for sure get his clients that want to stay in touch with their carpet cleaner to join a sms list via their cell phone. The carpet cleaner will also be able to control cost for the promo a whole lot easier by only offering a free one room steam cleaning contest in stead of a whole house. make sure the marketing material states that. |

Yes, this is what I had in mind too. He can offer to clean one room for free, free deodorizer, or some kind of free gift card, etc., My concern is that it is going to take much more time for him to build the list than for the restaurant. I am wondering if there is something I could speed up the whole lead generation process for him... |

Not long ago, I set up a carpet cleaning service. I had become a friend on Facebook with him until I could get to him. After we set it up, we put a opt in form on his Facebook page. Got quite a few there. Also, on his print ads he started putting the keyword to opt in. Could not get this guy to go for the QR code tho. lol If he does radio or TV ads, make sure his keyword is promoted. |

My strategy is to put Text WIN to 555-555-5555 for a chance to win...on his invoice, business card, flyers . I must test how facebook will work for him, though. I know this is another opportunity but somehow I don't expect much traffic from locals. Thanks Rymico for mentioning facebook, You got me curious...

I'm developing a "click to subscribe" widget that can be inserted onto a website (or Facebook I guess). The way it will work is people subscribe to an SMS list by entering their cell phone number in the form, and clicking "Subscribe". That will in turn start an OpenVBX flow, inserting the number into the selected database, and then doing whatever else it is that the flow is set up to do, like send back an SMS, alert you to a subscriber, etc. The free room of cleaning is a great idea for people to join the list. You could also do a weekly drawing for a full 3 rooms of cleaning or whatever, something really good and with alot of value. You would have optins like crazy I'll bet with that. |

Kasida, Facebook is not bad. There is a town of 220k about 150 miles from me. I am traveling there on Friday and have 5 appointments set. All thru Facebook. I am from that town and have many friends there. I friended them on Facebook. Then I watched for businesses they had friended or liked. And I requested a friend or I liked the business. I watch a while and see how they are using Facebook for advertising. Then make my approach to them. Hopefully by Friday night I will have 5 more clients. Rodney |
