Apple releases Podcaster App

Apple just releases Apple Podcast bringing audio back into the market. It was only a couple of days ago I was testing audio on mobile in this forum and released my WSO telling people that audio was coming back.

Apple’s long-awaited “Podcasts” app arrived on iTunes today and music lovers are already reacting to the unadulterated awesomeness of the newest offering from the Cupertino, California-based tech giant.

Apple calls the new app the easiest way to discover, subscribe to and play your favorite podcasts on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Explore hundreds of thousands of free audio and video podcasts from the Podcasts Catalog, and play the most popular podcasts, organized for you by topic, with the all-new Top Stations feature.

The new app, which requires an iDevice running iOS 5.1 or later, serves up such features as:

Browse by Audio or Video podcasts, or see what’s most popular in Top Charts
Tap subscribe for your favorites and automatically receive new episodes for free as they become available

Stream episodes or download to listen while offline
Skip forward and back using simple playback controls
Turn on Sleep Timer to automatically stop playing a podcast while listening in bed
Share your favorite episodes with friends using Twitter, Messages and Mail
Optionally sync your favorite episodes from iTunes on your Mac or PC
Sync your episode playback for seamless transition between devices

Does it help us create and broadcast a Podcast? If not, what does? I have a speach on MP3 I'd like to get out there.

Early reviews aren't very favourable.

I think you just upload to itunes with a tag podcast

I have installed Podcasts on my iPhone 4S.
This is really very good app that allows me to get all my audio and video podcasts in single tap, share it with my friends and download it to my phone for further.

The reviews of this app are terrible. I got it and sort of like it, and think the app has lots of potential. I still like using iTunes better. Now if an android app like this can be developed, THEN I will be impressed.
