OK, this is a unique use for a QR code:

Good idea? Or epic fail?

Fantastic idea. It's already been discussed on here before and interest is strong.

Honestly, that's a pretty cool idea. I mean definitely a little out there, but can you imagine going to a loved one's tombstone and scanning to a picture gallery/video? Would be pretty cool.

Agree. Plus, I don't see QR codes being around for a long time...not the kind of time frames that are meaningful in the context of a discussion on headstones.

I completely agree. QR Codes are good now and should be used on print media and business cards, but they won't last too long into the future.

I can foresee in the future proximity based print ads which will completely make QR codes extinct. Get near a poster and an interactive feature gets immediately played on your phone/etc. This is apposed to loading an app, to take a picture, to load the information...

i dont think epic fail...

Saying QR codes wont last long is nuts - they have been around for +10 years already, its just over the past 18 months they are just being used predominantly poorly by marketers and for a different purposes what they where originally conceived for.

Just like with many marketing tools they have a place, but when QR codes are used properly they can be a great bridge between offline and online media, not to mention a lot more accessible to small business at a fraction of the cost of NFC - when implemented poorly (which is usually the case) the experience tends to be an epic fail!

However, if i have a QR code on my headstone i will be long past caring! hahahaha

Sorry, I am too busy helping people to think of a cool signature!
