Any tricks for doing this, to keep costs down I want to use standard # 10 envelopes. I cant use postal service or Fed EX envelopes, too big and costly and I cant deliver them myself, too much work, Any Ideas ? |

too costly, too big ,too much work, why not give up now. in Dm, costs (and time) are an investment, would you rather spend $500 sending 500 pieces of mail that gets you 5 clients in return or invest $2100 sending the same 500 pieces and get 45 clients from it? |

sir by all means do try out the $2100 method and let me know if it works, actually I found a semi tricky way, sending a plain envelope stamped ORIGINAL on the outside to make it look like a document for the person intended, but you are correct probly have to spend money to make money |

Been there, done that and "Profession Curb appeal" has the most likely chance of getting past the gate keeper.

Depending on where you are marketing too... Often it will be the business owner who opens the store (specially if it is only a few associates, but this doesn't always hold true), slipping the envelope underneath the door after-hours has yielded a high response rate for some of my mail-campaigns last year. Personally, if I decide to contact small businesses again in the future promoting services, I will do it this way because I know it works (for me at least). |

Has anyone tried international air mail envelope? The one with blue and purple(?) stripes around the envelope. It will look like it was send from oversee and everything look greener on the other site.

Address it directly to the business owner, e.g. put their name on it, not the business name. Actually hand address it, so that it looks personal. Leave off the return address or put your initial and last name only, so it looks like it's a personal letter from an old friend. You want it to look personal so there's a smaller chance that the gatekeeper will open it.

When I receive those fake airmail or Fedex envelopes I am immediately turned off to the offer. I don't feel that they are trustworthy. It probably does get the envelope opened but I would think that it would really turn most people off when they find out it is a sales offer. Cato |
