Anyone done Real Estate SMS?
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Has anyone in this forum done SMS for real estate agents? I have one interested and I need to figure out how to structure my pricing.

I will be putting a text to opt-in sign on their listing, which will take you to a page that has a picture gallery, the home facts, and then the agent's picture and click to call button.

The benefits for agents are obvious. By putting up a sign with a Text to opt-in and/or a QR code, it can save the prospect time, effort, as well as the chance that flyers are empty/ruined. Also once they have built a list of prospects I can text them, so that if the house falls out of escrow I can notify them.
Not to mention they are instantly notified when a prospect opts-in, so they can call them right away.

Does anyone here have experience selling to agents, or any other benefits I should list? I would think it would be reasonable to charge $50-$100 per listing, which includes the sign/texting/landing page.

Any help?

Thanks

I have spoken to realtors about effective mobile marketing. Many of them are using QR codes without a mobile website or spending BIG $$$ for ads on the sides city buses and have no mobile presence. Stick with a $50 setup fee to make it easy for the first client. Get Proof that it works well. Then double the price for other realtors. This way your cover your costs (SMS is affordable) and build the trust with the 1st Realtor.

Thank you for the great feedback. Yeah I think a landing page, as well as a youtube virtual tour if they have one, is going to be the most beneficial to the agent.

I am going to price realtor SMS 2 ways. #1) $299 setup fee and $299 monthly for 10 keywords, that's 10 houses @ $29 monthly. 20 keywords @ $499.
I will supply the 10 Text to signs for them as part of the setup fee.
Also, when I see a For Sale by Owner, I will callthem and offer them the service for $100 as long as it takes and put their house on a mobile website of mine with description and pics. SHould take me 30 min one time. Any add'l pics or changes incur a fee.

I believe that with business customers who can afford it, such as auto dealers, if you are too cheap you lose credibility. An auto dealer would think a $400 price is a better product than a $200 price. Trust me, it's true.

Secondly, if you package any deal right, it can work. For instance, go to a realtor with a $29 item and then repackage it as 10 for $299, they will respond better every time, in my opinion.

Thanks for the advice tracourt, do you have any experience offering this package to real estate agents?

If you're having any success with it that would be awesome, trying to figure out the best way to bundle everything up into appealing packages.

My pricing discount is already enticing to clients, because I signed up another agent yesterday and she went straight to 5 listings, for the $10 per listing discount.

Those Realtors are tough. It's hard as heck to get them to pay for stuff right now.

Yeah, I know several real estate agents and they are having a very tough time at the moment. The market is down big time. Even if they wanted to I don't think many of them even have the money to invest in any new marketing campaigns.

It's not impossible but it would be a tough sell at the moment.

Just put together a good package for the realtor (not only mobile). I have a strategy laid out for a realtor-client of mine here in Germany in which he uses Google + local as well to have a good visibility in the search engines.

I use this plugin here, it's vital for this plan: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...imization.html

Hit me with a PM if you want to know more.

Thanks for the kudos, but I just received an infraction by WillR for that information. It seems I violated unknowingly some board rules (Sorry for that again, WillR)

In my opinion it would be OK to promote some offers from fellow warriors here - but apparently I got it wrong.

So now I will go back and have a good read on the forum rules ...

Not when you are using affiliate links, no.

That is NOT allowed on this forum. Not in the main discussion area and not in your signature.

When you are recommending products for which you receive a commission, all credibility of those recommendations goes out the window.

Hi WillR,

sorry for that, just read the rules now (were a little hard to find, had to go way to the knowledgebase to find them ...)

Just removed the link and set it back to the original link without aff info.

Hi WillR,

that may be, but I only recommend products which are helpful and backed up by my own 15 yrs of experience and knowledge in internet marketing. But I am from Germany and just start to use the WF more intensively, so nobody knows me here at the WF at the moment. But I want to be known as a guy who give good advice and recommends actually helpful stuff.

Again sorry for breaking the rules, won't be happening again.

You can recommend other people's products, that's fine. But not using affiliate links.

Thanks for the feedback, real estate is actually picking up in northern California. Agents are getting pretty busy again.

That's good to hear. Over here in Australia they are busy -- but only busy trying to get new business... and most of them don't have the money to keep throwing at marketing. But it's a catch 22. If they fail to do any marketing then they can't expect business to pick up.

Yeah it sounds like they're better off over here currently; and that really is a no-win situation.

I'd like to see a little better results before I contact more agents right now, considering the age group of buyers right now I figured there would be more opt-ins.

Need to experiment with different methods I guess, but I do like the real estate niche. So far the few clients I've gotten have been real cool go-getter types, which is definitely who I want to be doing business with.

Not to mention it's SO much easier when they're all from the same company, I just reference my first client and they all say "Oh, well if he's doing it then I'll give it a shot."

Hi,

Has anyone examples of a real estate broker (we call them estate agents in the UK) using SMS ?. Such as they got x% more sign-ups for their list (property alerts) in z months, over a period of y they sold x% more properties. Anything like that would be very useful.

(I have an agent asking me)

Thanks - really appreciate any input

Si
