Hi, I'm starting to build some mockups for restaurants. I'm just wondering what to say on the email when aproaching these business owners and showing them the mobile version of their site. If someone could help me with this or could share his own email model, It would be great. Thank you in advance. |

I would wait to show them until you've peeked their curiosity and they've shown interest. Subject: Problem with your website.... Hi, I've noticed a serious glitch with your website and this is costing you money every day. Contact me ASAP because I can fix this. |

I would try to get them to download the app and play with it to get their attention. Because most restaurateurs are not tech savvy, emphasize that it is TOTALLY customizable to their needs.

I think this is too close to lying, many would definitely call you but how would they react after you tell them that this is about mobile website?

I don't consider this a "lie." The "serious problem" is that their website is not mobile optimized and basically doesn't work on a phone properly. Being as much as 50% of their customers may be searching for them on their phones, don't you think losing half of their business is a serious problem that they'd want to fix ASAP?

You can tell them; "Do you want more customers? Because I think you are losing money" Then explain to them how 'keyword x' for 'service x' is searched for 'xxx' times a month, and they are losing all of this traffic. Then convince them of the benefits of having a mobile website. This is a little more friendly, without convincing them that something is really wrong with their site (even though there is if they have no mobile site) Cheers, Chris |

You can do something like this; Hello..., Here are two pictures like you're visitors will see your site on their phone in the current state and the one with your mobile website. I've already made the first page for you. For the other pages I will contact you (DAY and TIME) so you can give me the changes you want (design&content) before I build the fully functional site and it goes live. The other pages would take a few days to build and it's better to do it right the first time offcourse. For the experience (call buttons working) you can scan the QR-code below (Free QR-scanners can be found in the market place for your phones operating system) Or, you can typ the following url in your mobile phones browser; URLHERE QR-code to the mobile website Screenshots: Here you will place the before and after pictures |

You do not get anywhere be putting down their current website. There is NOT a glitch with their current website, that's a lie. There is nothing wrong with their current website. You are not going to be fixing anything on their standard website You are creating an additional mobile optimized website. Don't treat your clients like idiots. It doesn't work well. | |
