Is there a reliable, trustful and detailed counter provider?

Hi,

I have a website thisis.mywebsite.com

which has a link to myclientssubdomain.mywebsite.com

My client has asked me if I could invoice him according to the number of visitors who come from thisis.mywebsite.com

to myclientssubdomain.mywebsite.com

I said no problem, there are hundreds of counters. And he is willing to pay at the end of the month lets say 10 cents per visitor.

His problem is, however, if the counters are reliable which I do not know.

Are there established providers which could prove to my client that their counters are reliable?

Thanks
dtm

Why not use Google Analytics? You can track subdomains:

Google Analytics stats aren't 100% accurate, because it does not access your server... it uses a Javascript widget on your page (client-side) to gather stats from, and since some of the visitors to your site will have Javascript disabled, it won't count them at all.

The only 100% accurate solution would be a counter script installed on your server. Or, you could just look at the 'unique visitors' from your Awstats for that subdomain each month (if you're running cPanel, go to Web/FTP Stats > Subdomain Stats > Awstats).

Awstats is probably going to be the easiest and most accurate way to track things. It can be found in your cPanel.

Thanks, I will try awstats.

I am using StatCounter - Free Invisible Web Tracker, Hit Counter and Web Stats for other purposes, however, that doesn't give me the details I need

Thanks for the info, it definitely makes sense. I sometimes look at the stats on my cPanel but that Google interface is much more appealing!
