Mobile loyalty, what can you do with it?

Remember the old fashioned plastic or paper loyalty cards, some call them punch cards and you normally buy 10, get one free. They are still going strong but now that concept has been taken to a whole other level.

First, those cards were hooked up with sofisticated software that could track all purchases and also store collected contact information so that business owners could send out an introductory Welcome email and subsequent email campaigns. That type of data gathering gets really expensive depending on the services used.

Today, besides the plastic cards, there are several different types of apps available, some will let you download all your loyalty cards to one app to have them all in one place. Even Google is getting into loyalty apps these days, ramping up shortly with Punchd:

A Loyalty Program to Rule Them All - Punchd

Just in the last few days, another player has entered the field of mobile "punch cards":

Vipster | Customer Loyalty Made Simple

It is my understanding that Vipster is a white label program and in there lies my question. So, I am asking you, what would you do with it, how would you price it and what else comes to mind?

Looking forward to your responses,

Eva

I've sent an email to the company with some questions. No point in putting it here until I have an answer from them which said it would take 2 days for a reply. In the meantime, any input would be appreciated,

Eva;

Vipster looks like it is white labeled for the business, but that you can't be a white labeled reseller for them. I may be wrong but that's what I got from their website.

I watched the video for punch'd by google. FYI, I have heard of security issues with QR loyalty programs. While appearing to scan the QR code, customers have actually taken a picture of it. Then they email the picture to all their friends and they scan it once a day. Next thing you know, you have 15 people redeeming their punches for a reward when they have never purchased anything.

Bizness Apps - Mobile Apps For Businesses Made Easy is native app platform that has a QR coupon/reward feature. Customers scan the QR code and it records it within the app. They have a way of changing the QR code (if you think that it has been copied) and you can keep the same offer. They have a white label program but it is a minimum $300 per month (which gets you 10 native apps hosted).

Customer Loyalty and Rewards Program is a cloud based mobile web app that works on GPS and a pin code. The customer has to be in the store and the clerk/waitress etc.. has to give them a pin code to enter into the mobile web app to get a "punch". You can have the code changed daily if you want. They also have a reseller option. It is $89 month and that will get you 25 hosted mobile web apps.

Hope this helps.

Thank you kindly for your reply, didn't even think about the security risk involved. That is certainly something to consider. Will check out the links you provided, thanks again,

Lime Cellular has a loyalty program in their mobile marketing system. Check them out, I am happy with them so far.
