What is the best way for any of you guys to get past gatekeepers and straight to the owner? I have done emails, cold calls, walk in to businesses. I need a better system..anyone care to share what works for them? |

There was a technique I read from Jason Kanigan that was mainly acting a bit insecure, just like "We do these and these but I'm not sure with whom I should speak". If you search it probably you'll find the technique better explained from the man itself. |

Dude! Appreciate the shout out...it's not inscure, it's a little unsure! And you don't sound like an idiot when you do it. Have a look at this thread. First I give you a call opening that works very well. Later on in the thread is the access to the technique, with actual recordings of me using it. Name another sales trainer who gives you that! Anyway you can head straight to one of those posts here. It is freakin' funny when the gatekeepers fall over themselves trying to give me information too quickly. |

Social engineering, with that gatekeeper it's all about rapport, it wouldn't matter if you started talking about a BBQ you went to, anything to get them in the moment with you, then, after killing them with kindness just directly ask them for what you want. In fact, I'll get the gatekeeper excited about what I'm selling sometimes and they'll say, oh you're doing that, you need to speak to _______. Some have even wished me luck before transfering!!! Hope this helps some! |

Hey Bumkeun Try salesforce and linkedin platforms to get details of your business leads and then try mailing your product or services to them. But remember that you must follow the rules of "Can Spam Act" in your mails, if followed then the servers will not opt your mail as spam and you can present your information to your leads. That is the best means to reach your desired person in minimum efforts. |

Gatekeepers will get so many calls offering similar services to yours, make sure your offering is different and let them know why you can help the company gain revenue or save money. Also try and make it a now or never proposition , that you will not be able to keep calling back to offer.

My first recommendation would be to try a different approach with some of the businesses. For example, instead of cold-calling or walk-in on businesses, maybe reach out to your extended network of friends, family, networkers and see if they have a connection to some businesses who might fit your target market. Ask if you can use their name as a referral. This is one of the best ways to get to the influencers in a business. I've found that while, yes, you can have success going the cold call and getting by the gatekeeper method, it's always going to be less than if you have better leads and connect with the right people. If you don't have much of an extended network in your target industry, then I would recommend not looking at the situation as trying to "get past the gatekeeper". The gatekeepers are smart and they know what you are doing. Remember, business is all about people. Earn their trust first. I think being honest and upfront is a great way to do this. Maybe something like, "Who would I speak to if I wanted to see if your business would be interested in ____________?" |
