Who seems to be the best to target for mobile sites for you?

by Robert X 9 replies
I just wanted to see where people are finding the most success when offering mobile sites,, sms,, qr codes, etc.

Is it: Restaurants?
Locksmiths?
Florists?
Bailbondsman?
Hotels?
Taxis?

What other "on the fly" businesses are out there? What other types do people search for when they are out and about?

I've been reading Don Alm's stuff for quite a few years now. He has some good ideas. I suggest that you check out his thread here for answers to your question:

Restaurants and bars have and continue to be my best clients. I enjoy working with them the most because you can often set up something and have real results to show them by the weeks end.

      Will,

      1. Did you approched them face to face, or by handing them flyers?

      2. You provide just mobile website, or all mobile marketing products (mobile website, sms, qr code, etc)?

      3. You host the mobile website on their server, or you host it on another server (or domain .mobi)?

      4. Do you charge a recurring payment, or one time fee?

      5. Do you provide any specific content update fee for their mobile website?

      Thank you.

        1. I now do all my selling face to face. It's much easier.

        2. I work with my clients on an ongoing basis. It's a waste of your time otherwise. If you offline marketing properly then after a while you shouldn't need to be looking for new clients because you continue to grow and work with your current ones.

        3. I host the mobile sites on my customers current domain. I don't see the need to charge them for additional hosting. I have one rule in business. Treat your customers how you would like to be treated. It's worked well for me so far. I find the relationship and trust I build with my client is worth a lot more to me than a small hosting fee per month.

        4. I don't charge a recurring payment for a mobile site unless they need any updates. The recurring payments come from working with your client on an ongoing basis.

        5. I will update their content or make changes, sure. I am upfront with my clients in the beginning so there are no surprises. They know exactly how much I charge per hour and that's all I charge them for any ongoing work to their mobile site. We are trying to run a business just like they are. So just be upfront and let them know what you charge and there shouldn't be any issues.

Good stuff Will. Thanks for sharing.

I've been using email forever for prospecting but the emails you have to send are a lot. I am just now getting into cold calling. Haven't started yet but have a coach and will give it a shot. I like the idea that I can focus on different parts of the country (US) and don't have to physically be there.

I think I'll focus on restaurants and see what happens.

    Hey Robert
All the business are having their own potentials, what matter is how you approach and present your services to them so they will give you business.
Restaurants, bars and hotels are nice means to seek business. Approach them with mails and further make calls if they seems interested.
