Apps? Please, Just read, too much for Title

Ok,, sorry all,,

I'm home trying to get this mobile stuff all together. Now,, I keep having ideas for offers and I was wondering about companies that really don't have a NEED for text marketing,, but,, might like to have an APP for their biz info to be installed on someones phone for a quick call to action,,

For instance:
Plumbers
Electricians
Mechanics
even Doctors and Dentists
etc....

You see what I mean? Yes, I know they can use sms too but they may not want it YET. (maybe they don't see the need yet) But may like the idea of an app so their clients have them at the ready on their phone.

Does this sound like a good idea? Or not?
Oh, also,, I have no idea how apps work so can you explain all of it to me as well?

Thanks,

Robert X

I wouldnt personally recommend getting into something that you are not familiar with.
Apps are installed applications on phones, basically. There would be little use for an app with these people, unless you get creative. For example, an electrician would not use an app to release promos or coupons, but may use it to release humorous content or value-added business content to assist in spreading the name.

Hi Robert
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're asking if it is possible to offer an app to a small service business owner, that is useful to his current and prospective customers. Am I right?

You may not know very much about apps and building them, but believe me that this is a very doable idea.

The principle is the same as an auto-responder series, or a viral marketing plan.
The biz owner will be getting the word out about his business through good information inside a useful/fun medium.

The word app is used these days primarily with mobile software programs.

However, when you think about software programs (or applications) such as FileZilla FTP, Avast Antivirus, and most any screensaver, you begin to understand how your idea can be implemented.

For example, when you download the free version of Avast Virus, before installing the software they first offer you the paid version at a discount. If you pass on that, you're also hit with an ad from one of their joint venture partners.

Get it?

So, go ahead and create a useful app for the customers of your local plumber and insert profitable info.

Here's somewhere you can go to create a free iphone app in a jiffy. You need know nothing about apps, which is perfect for you. I need not say that I have NO affiliation with this company.

Create Free iPhone Apps

Brent Whinfield.

If you can design and code an app that has value to a customer then they will use it, plain and simple. Don't be discouraged by the fact that you may not have experience in the area, that can be learned through research. Good luck!

Mobile technology is spreading wings in all businesses. An app for your business is a nice means to show your services and market presence. At the current time almost all businesses are going mobile, i.e. having an app for mobile platforms. So why not offer an app for small businesses. Make presentations with benefits of having an app and the effect that will have on local audience.
I think mobile applications for small businesses is a nice idea. Get some knowledge on how to make apps and offer them your services.

I am Daniel Jones, working in a Mobile Application Development Company as a Mobile App Developer. I enjoys exploring apps on iOS, blackberry, android and other mobile platforms.

I guess I don't see how a plumber or an electrician would need an App either. They need leads. In general plumbers get there business through advertising in one form or another.

I now several plumbers and the price they pay google for PPC is very high. So thre is definitely a market for something there. I am just not sure an App is the right way to go in this case.

We got into creating business apps for Apple and Android at the end of last year, and there's definitely a market for them both stand alone and as an enhancement for customers.

If they provide a solution for their existing customers, then people will download and use them, otherwise they become another gadget that's just out there.

If you have some ideas you would like to try, PM me. I have a couple I am trying to work out now, so may be able to offer suggestions.

Thanks,

John

Robert, are you looking to create your own apps for these clients or do you need someone to build them for you. I currently build Android and Iphone Apps, we offer a nice finders fee of $250 for anyone you bring in. Just a thought for you! Sometimes leveraging your time is the best way to begin. Think about it and let me know. Dana

You don't need to be an expert to build a professional looking app for a client.

I think the main point to drive home is the fact they'll be able to do push notifications to the people who download the app. It's different than an e-mail or a text message, and sends a separate notification directly to the phone.

Focus on great content for the app, not just one that educates about price and quality so you get the install...then you'll be able to capitalize on the list. The money is in the list (or mobile app in this case).
