Oh its all big business playing games and there is counter suits, appeals and re submissions and so much more so no need to fret to much. Apple is pissed because it is loosing a lot of its market and people are leaving in droves because of their controlling nature. Also don't forget that apple is also being sued for all types of breeches as well. Its also good advertising for their iphone 5 launch. Quentin |

The absolute worse case scenario is that 4 years from now, Samsung finishes losing all their appeals, and guess what... they already stopped selling all the phones that were allegedly infringing these patents (that never should have been issued in the first place.. patenting things like "slide to unlock"?). They'll update their TouchWiz skin for Android to use a different, non-infringing animation and keep on selling phones. Android itself is under no threat. All the alleged infringements are either related to hardware design or the TouchWiz UI Samsung adds to their phones, that isn't part of stock Android. The funny thing about these cases... even if Samsung has to pay a billion dollars for the alleged infringement of Apple's patents, they'll have earned much more than a billion dollars becoming the #1 handset maker so rapidly by "copying" those things. It was worth it! Facebook paid a billion dollars for Instagram. If Samsung can buy #1 market position for a billion dollars, it's a bargain. |

Is there an obligation for using sold mobile phone from Samsung? I know that Apple won the case with $1 billion amount. Apple is not proving a lot of options for users to pick from plus they are having comparatively high prices, that is the reason users are moving to android phones. With the launch of iPhone 5 Apple will definitely get a good number of users and also a comeback in the market. |

I have seen countless cases where someone has broken the law and made x amount of money doing so yet only end up being fined a percentage of that money. Almost makes it worth breaking the law... almost | |

It's all about advertising (they should call it "courtvertising") - they charge it off under marketing costs and make money anyway ...
