You can reach potential customers/clients ANYWHERE. They don't have to be at their home or a coffee shop or computer lab sitting at a computer. They could be in a car, in a lobby, on a bus, in a park, in the forest (presuming they get reception)... just about anywhere! There are more options! I knew this before, but it just sank in today. |

Yes, and mobile phones are more important to people than their TVs. Some interesting stats from Google's "Mobile Playbook" - a 38 page guide on why local businesses must go mobile. http://www.themobileplaybook.com/en-...leplaybook.pdf |

Exactly. Think about the possibilities, when your business has a mobile app, and you can reach all of your customers in any minute. Their phone is within their 1 meter radius almost 24/7. Geolocal has a really good point, too.

Yes I agree with you. It has become easy to reach all of your customers in just seconds. Don't have to wait for them to open their laptop. It helps in quick updates. In fact I have seen many local businesses which allow their customers to place orders by calling or messaging them. No matter where ever you are by just single click you can contact your customers directly.

That is exactly why I dove into mobile marketing myself. The potential for business is amazing and lucrative for those selling and using the services. With a service like mobile marketing it's hard to go wrong.

Of course the main idea and advantage of mobile marketing is reachability. No matter where the customer is located it can still get to them since we are in the era where majority of people use phones instead of laptops now.

It is indeed a true fact that mobile marketing is more beneficial than any other form of marketing techniques. Computers cannot be taken along with you wherever you go. On the other hand, mobiles can easily be carried around, which makes it very simple for both customers and companies to do business even on the go.

People now are really dependant on their mobiles, this is why there was such a big fuss about the new apple maps (and because it was a major mistake), so there is definately bright future for mobile marketing.

From what I hear, Apple Maps are Crap. I can't believe with all the beta testing they do and the hype surrounding their launches that they can release a product with such an inferior application on it.

It's up to us to show business owners why they should care -- because they are losing customers and sales to their competitors. We get all excited because we know how much it can help them but until you show them the benefits OR can prove to them that they're losing money, it's pretty much "so what?"

I live in India. And was looking to start some business. Basically it was some coaching for programming. I had a website ready. But to attract students, I needed to look for some other sources i.e. except from online marketing. Then I contacted some local yellow pages, and then I had a talk with a dealer of a major telecom brand in my state. then i promoted my classes through SMS services, and the results were positive. I started to build a group and then it kept on going, now the teaching its outsourced. But yeah about the main thing mobile marketing will give u result for both online and offline ventures, You just need to access the niche, the target audience and then take ACTION. The results will show.

With the help of mobile marketing, the number of customers you can reach out to, will be much greater than any other form of marketing technique. I believe that the rate at which the sale of smartphones is increasing mobile marketing is definitely going to see an upward trend in the long run. What say people?

It depends on the type of business and the targeted customers. Because in my opinion, not many people have the time to listen to a sale rep of a bank or insurance company advertise about their products (i know i wouldn't, except when i was not bored). But if you are working in HR field or consultation service then it would definitely effective. And also, if your products are fitness, random stuffs then you would get more attention target the stay-at-home wives instead of their busy husbands. |

Just look at people at restaurants, bus shelters, train stations, in their car - most of them are browsing on their mobiles! You would have to be blind Freddy not to realize that this market is scorchingly hot right now. The trick is to work out how you are going to take advantage of it. |

Haha this reminds me of my school time, back in 2003, when people argued whether Flash should be the new standard or not. Turned out Apple said goodbye to Adobe Flash, and so did we. back to the mobile platform.. We all know the Moore's law, yes? Basically the mobile phone will get bigger and the laptop will get smaller. In the end, the might end up in about 5 to 6 inches haha by that time it makes no difference when you carry a laptop or a mobile (Bring Your Own Device). The bottom line is, while the Internet industry itself is being more fluid and mobile, we, the marketers and developers should follow that trend, no matter where it leads us. Be fluid, be mobile. |

How to get started? Maybe think up a really good app idea, and then go hire a programmer to create it for you, or learn to program and create it yourself. |

and with ever larger smart phones such as samsung galaxy/notes etc..they are able to display plenty of info. they are also really mobile computers than have phone functionality, capable of doing many more sophisticated things! I have a galaxy note 2 and it's become quickly indispensable. there is tons of opportunity to bring value to people, using all the tools available on smart phones such as text/gps/barcode scanning/shopping/geo location/social media....its now endless. A smart phone can do out and about nearly anything a computer can do at home. |

Yes, two different marketing platforms. I don't understand why so many are treating them the same -- the way you communicate to mobile users is much different than how you communicate to desktop. ie. At point of purchase discounts, driving social media, interactions... Of course we are bias, but we are strong believers that responsive is lazy... mobile warrants it's own content & strategy. |
