I have a friend who makes basic mobile sites for a niche market, we are thinking about taking it offline and selling them to local businesses. What does the average business expect in a mobile site besides the basics? Right now he puts a main page services contact info (address, phone, email) map social media. I'm thinking about $350 is a good price, he wants to go lower. $200 or so. Is there more that your clients tend to want? What do you guys do about hosting? His niche market tend to host themselves. Also for shops with online shops, do you integrate that or do you just tend to push to their standard website? I'm just trying to get my head around this before we get out there and hit the streets. Thanks. |

The customers will looking for something specific. When they looking at a mobile website they need information, they want that information in seconds, and they really need a call to action. For example if a customer is looking for a restaurant on the phone, he is probably hungry. He just needs some info, maybe some pics, and a big click to call, or click to navigate button. |

If they have a main website too, a link back to that site would be useful

A prominent link (with graphic maybe) leading back to standard website. And be careful about scripts that keep redirect user back to mobile site - would make link to main site pointless.

A basic 5 page mobile site can be sold for $300-$500 without a problem. | |
