To begin with almost every business can use Mobile Marketing so you do not need to feel like retail and restaurants are your only choices. Brainstorm about businesses you think would benefit from having mobile lists. Consider how they would REALLY benefit from mobile text campaigns… then bring those ideas with you when you talk to potential clients, get them excited about the ideas too. Look for companies near you that have websites with contact information. This is usually located in the About Us or Contact Us sections. Send an email offering your Mobile Website or SMS Services to them. If they only have a contact form use that. Follow that up with a personal phone call when possible. If you DO happen to be good at blogging, promote Mobile Marketing via business blogging. Link to your blogs where business owners frequent, like Linked-In, Twitter, and even Facebook. Talk to relatives and friends who own a business, and then talk to the owners of the places you frequently go. They already know you, and you know them. Hope that is helpful to those just starting. |

Google and Facebook is always the best place to start when hunting out leads. Usually businesses already engaged in PPC, online advertising and social media will be more open to speaking to you about mobile marketing since they "get it".

Talking to relatives and friends is a good one when getting started. I had a few referrals from this technique. Also lurk around Linkedin groups and contribute some good information. Once you participate for a while contact members of that group. OR even better start a discussion and give members a free consultation. I landed some local seo clients this way and will try it for mobile services soon. Just don't spam on linkedin. Give valuable information. |

Social networks are good for searching people for business, we can always try Facebook and Twitter but I think Linked in and Salesforce are better platforms for getting leads. Start from cold mailing and further make contact though calls if they respond. |
