Just wanted to remind everyone to use mobile ppc to help close mobile site sales. It really is a no brainer with current cost. Think about it..your charging 200 to 500 to build a mobile site that takes less than an hour in most cases. Pull 25$ out of that and send some qualified leads there way. Once you spend 25$ on a campaign you can use the 100$ free credit they(Google) gives you as well. (as of today you can not use the coupons without first spending the $25) Either way with cost per click for great keyword phrases being as low as .10 you and your client can not loose. That is 125$ worth of targeted local leads at 1.0 per click for $25..you do the math oh and these numbers were from a current Google campaign in the restaurant niche . |

With other emerging mobile ads network like adiquity, inmobi, smaato, jumptap and other the traffic of mobile advertisers is dispersed and so Google is offering schemes for people for getting more indulge in their admob network. By the way that is nice information, helpful to people thinking about investing in mobile advertisement. |

Is this just Adwords targetting mobile phones? Or are there other sites better for mobile PPC? Cheers |

I have been looking into Mobile PPC. I currently have normal Adwords campaigns running in a Health related niche. I am paying around $4.00 per click. When I checked Mobile Adwords it suggested same CPC of $4.00. So I would like to know how you can get clicks for 0.1 cent?

1. For example I was talking with a restaurant and found out that their average ticket is 90$. Using keyword tools I was able to show how many people searched for their restaurant from mobile device in a month, 167. I also showed how many people searched for "restaurants in city name" from a mobile device, was about 6800. Being that the search terms always brought up Google Places and that they were number 4 on the page, it was safe to assume the restaurant most likely got 10% of those clicks. We went with 5% of 6800 is 340 plus 167 and decided to call it 500 as a lower end estimate of the people visiting his site from a mobile device each month. Then we look at a short presentation on what Google says about bounce rates, as well as mobile conversion rates. I go with a low 50% as a bounce rate. That is 250 hitting his site each month and bouncing with a bad impression. With mobile conversion stats being so high, we went with a conservative 5% conversion rate. Being that this is a very popular place I assume it was much higher.h 5% of 250 is 12.5 call it 12 to make it simple Plus the 200 clicks from the free PPC I give them at 5% conversion is 10 more In total 22 new people thru the door at $90 is $1,980 Even after deducting 50% for food cost they make close to $1000 At this point I told him it was a one time fee of $300. For me it is Google Engage hands down, I have not even looked into the numbers for other options. Businesses respect and fear Google. When you tell them that you are a Google Certified Partner they tend to listen.

what percentage of new customers become regular customers, and do those new customers always dine alone, or do they eat with friends or family. If the restaurant owner responds positively, your ROI is no longer based on a single meal, it is based on the customer visiting once a month, twice a month, and possibly introducing new customers through their social networks. if the restaurant owner says that customers don't tend to return regularly, then this opens the door to finding out why, is it the food, the service, lack of a follow up system, does the restaurant have poor online reputation.

Is it a local, geotargeted keyword, or health related in general? Local keywords that are further filtered to mobile only are where you get the clicks so cheap.

My normal Adwords click cost is around $4.00 Adwords mobile CPC for same keyword is also showing @ $4.00. Even if I could halve that I'd be happy. But @ 0.01 cent per click ... I like to see that?

I am also just starting a campaign for cityname restaurants gets over 8000 monthly mobile local searches. cpc is .65 with estimated 10 daily clicks and 200 impressions, average position is 1.4 I am sure it varies city to city. For example if you are in a city with 2 million people.. My point was that with the $100 in free advertising even at .65 that is over 150 targeted people to a potential clients mobile site. With mobile conversions being what they are it can really help justify $300.00 for a mobile site.

But, I can't find mobile CPC @ 0.65 or less. I am using adwords keyword tool but obviously I'm not using it correctly. So can you share what or where can I find the keyword tool you use that gives mobile CPC estimates?

Like I mentioned above it could be the city you are searching. What is the population size of your local city? If you pm me a few of your keywords I would be happy to see what I can come up with. I am not sure what you mean? If you operate a legit business I do not see an issue whit becoming Google Certified.

The number of searches from mobiles is considerably much lower. Searches for keyword on destops and laptops is around 1000 p/month. On Mobile it's just 300. But the CPC is remaining the same. I have also tried other keywords from my other campaigns and they too show mobile CPC to be almost same as for Desktop CPC. So I don't know how or what you're doing to get such a low CPC.

I'm hoping that at some point in the near future Admob will have better geo targeting so we can get down to the city like you can in the US. For now it is just by province which does absolutely nothing for a local business. |

Hey Mobuzz: Great thread! I sent you an email as well...I'd like to know if this strategy of using mobile PPC is still as effective today. In my niche I sell video and page 1 ranking to get leads for my local clients, but I would love the idea of doing this strategy (mobile site + mobile PPC) to bring them more prospects, etc. Just wondering if it is still as hot as it was 6 months ago? I've heard mixed reviews on it. Let me know your thoughts. Dave |

This strategy not only may work for closing mobile site clients but also it may work in closing all other types of services online or offline. However, I wouldn't spend any money on a client without closing the deal first. The numbers given in this thread all sound fine but it may not work the same for everyone and one can easily lose a lot of money doing this without closing clients.

I saw a few quotes in this thread about CPC costs. If you get a customized business app, you can get CPC for .01-.03 via Admob and a few others...not junk traffic, but highly targeted. But you must have your own app. I and quite a few other currently get this. And no the 1 to 3 cent is not a typo.

Are you talking about a native Iphone/Android App or a webapp? I thought that apps needed downloading and therefore couldn't be sent paid traffic? How does that work sending ppc traffic to an app? Thanks, Andy
