Would you pay $999?

Hey warriors,

I have built a ROBUST email marketing platform that works with Twilio. It is absolutely amazing. With fantastic graphics for the end user. Very friendly user interface.
What if I give you a file to extract, and that file will be installed on your server, or a server that I will give you. Kind of like Word press, one click install.
Once install, you have your own platform to recruit clients. You have your own platform to blast text messages.
Would you pay $999 for it?
Take my word it cost me way, way, way, more money than that to develop.
I am just curious if there is a market for it.
No monthly expenses (except hosting), no membership to pay someone, this is absolutely yours on your own domain. In few minutes you own the platform.
Please share your thoughts.
I should add that this is a complete system with a site in front of it. So clients can register/login and manages their own lists using this system.

Thanks.

I think there's definitely a market for self-hosted SMS scripts, but I'm not sure if there's much of a market at that price-point. If you do a quick Google search, you'll find that the vast majority of those types of scripts sell for a fraction of that amount. I've even seen a few free ones that look decent (although I haven't tried any of them... so really can't say if they're any good or not).

So the big question is... what makes your script THAT much better than everything else out there? (and I don't mean that in a rude way -- I'm just curious).

If it's an enterprise level script, then you might be able to justify that kind of price point (depending on the feature set, licensing structure, level of support, etc). But for a consumer level script, I think that type of product would be a tough sell for a grand... simply because of all the competing products out there that sell for 1/10th of that amount.

My 2 cents.

Sorry but the price is simply too high.

Here is a cool application I found today that is free.....

I've been using it for the last 2 hours talking with family.

This is completely something else. This is for enterprise and what you show is for individuals.
My program is a complete white label with an amazing UI. Complete client management and lists tools and all can be installed on your domain, so you can sell it to your clients to use. The beauty about it, is that you can take the file install it, and within minutes you have a website and a platform to start selling.
You can install it as part of your wordpress, or any site you own. As long as you have a domain and MySQL installed, this program can be launch. I know it cost me 1000s of dollars to create it. It was VERY important for me that the end user, meaning my clients will log in and immediately know how to use it. Thats what took us so long to develop. "Idiot proof" with amazing graphics for the end user. In fact it took us 18 months until finally I can say, this is beautiful :-)
Anyway, you guys don't think there is market to sell it to someone that wants to sell SMS products to clients? Sure there are cheaper ways. But are there really nice and easy way to show it to your clients? Are they really ready with a click on a button? I have yet to see one. I saw a lot of garbage out there.

Hi Morphious, to be honest with you, going on a forum that is predominately filled with people special offers isn't the best way to ask for pricing input.

I think you should test it with paid traffic, using an A/B testing platform, once you've developed it.

The idea sounds nice enough, any exclusive software platform, is worth paying up for, especially when it's not a monthly thing. But always focus on giving more value, until the price seems like a no - brainier.

Ask friends to also give you input, based on their knowledge or join a Skype Master-mind group to ask several guys.

I hope you find the answer to your question

The problem with this forum is that we are used to WSO that cost $7-$17 and we still bitch about the products. However, it cost me a lot of money to develop a high end product. Also, some people will require help. My programmers cost me $100 per hour. How can I justify selling this for $49? Sorry I don't use flake outsource people. I am tired of "My dad is sick", "we had a storm here", "no Internet for the last 2 days" and so on. I need to notch people next to me. You want to be a "A Player" you need to surround yourself with "A Players" people. This product may not be a good fit for this forum. I was just trying to see what you guys think about it, as an idea.

WarriorForum = Wrong forum to ask.

Haven't logged in in ages but I saw your thread I had to, don't let the wrong audience kill your idea. Not that there's anything bad about WF, it's just that most people here are accustomed to cheap stuff and they value 1-time quick win sneaky tactics over solid systems.

I hate to break it to you, but the amount of money that you spend on development costs has absolutely nothing to do with what you will be able to (successfully) sell a product for.

Ultimately, what you will be able to sell a product for boils down to how much demand there is for that type of product, what your target market is willing to bear for that type of product, and your ability to convince your target market that your product is equal to or better than other similarly-priced products in your market.

That said... if your script truly is an enterprise-level solution, then the Warrior Forum is probably not be the best place to do your pricing research.
